The Immortal is one of the strongest heroes in the Amazon television series Invincible, based on the graphic novel of the same name. Invincible's second season is on the way, and while there may be more time to wait for it, that hasn't stopped the fan art from coming out in the meantime.

Invincible has plenty of heroes and many roles for the taking in the event of a live-action adaptation. Other fan art pieces that have come out have included Henry Cavill in the role of Omni-Man and even fun recreations of many scenes or memes of the show. This particular artwork shows Hugh Jackman in the role of The Immortal, a hero in the show known for escaping death time and time again (hence the name).

The character sports a similar bearded look to Jackman's Wolverine which he played in the live-action X-Men films. Jackman is viewed as the iconic and definitive Wolverine especially during the early 2000s. His portrayal has had a huge influence on the characterization of the character in the comic book world which includes cosplayers, video games, television shows, and fan films.

Seeing Jackman in the fan art really makes it seem like he was born to play this character. Unfortunately, fans will have to hold out hope as currently Invincible is only being adapted in the animated format and it doesn't look like that will change anytime soon. Still, it's cool to imagine what the world of this superhero show would be like should it ever touch the big screen. With its growing popularity, anything is possible.

The artwork comes from Instagram account @Skull101iffy which is an account known for its digital artwork as well as media that revolve around geek culture. Superheroes and supervillains are the main attraction here, and recently there's been a good amount of Spider-Man posts which is right on time with the recent release of the movie so be sure to check the page out for any artwork or news that come out during the week.

With Invincible awaiting a second season, many are expecting the show to continue with the gore and violence that the series is known for. The Boys, Invincible and Deadpool have all demonstrated that dark or violent superhero shows can sell with a wide reach. People love the bright and campiness of Marvel but every now and then, it's nice to have something with higher stakes.

Invincible is currently in production for its second season.
