Honkai: Star Rail may be the younger sibling to Genshin Impact, but players will surely say that the game did some things better than its predecessor. For example, people no longer have to run four errands for the people of Teyvat, and instead only have to assist one daily.
Other than that, of course, Honkai: Star Rail also includes some other features that would have been accepted with an open hand if it was ever implemented in Genshin. To list a few, here are some things in Honkai: Star Rail that should exist in Genshin Impact.
7 Shield Indicator
Due to how shielding turns into a meta in Genshin Impact, it’s no surprise that players are asking for an indicator of the remaining shield HP. This is so people can better plan when to refresh their shield, especially when the protector is Zhongli, whose barrier lasts for a while.
Sadly, up until now, a shield indicator is still not a thing in Genshin Impact. But what’s curious is that this feature has been available since Honkai: Star Rail 1.0, where players can see bold white lines around the character HP, indicating the remaining shield. It’s weird why this system is not implemented in Genshin Impact yet, considering how helpful it is, but players can only hope it will be added in the future.
6 Salvage And Custom Relic
Sanctifying Essence and Unction are Artifact EXP items added in Genshin Impact 1.5. However, while this item is widely welcomed, Honkai: Star Rail pulled it off even better. Instead of destroying unneeded Relics for Credit like how low-rarity Artifacts in Genshin Impact can turn to Mora, salvaging a Relic in Honkai: Star Rail turns them into EXP materials, which helps players free up space without losing the precious EXP.
Not only a feature to turn Artifact into EXP materials, but Genshin Impact also doesn’t have a feature to make a custom Relic piece like Honkai: Star Rail does. Considering farming for the correct stat can be a pain, a system to make a custom Artifact in Genshin Impact will surely be a brilliant addition to the game.
5 Remove And Equip Relic Instantly
An Artifact set feature has been demanded in Genshin Impact since the dawn of time. This will help people move a set from one character to another effortlessly as players often have one or two perfect sets that are shared between a few characters in their roster.
While a set feature is not a thing in Honkai: Star Rail, they do have a button to remove all Relics and equip the most suitable ones instantly. The logic behind the instant-equip still needs work, but it’s definitely better than how Genshin Impact doesn’t even have this system, to begin with.
4 Open Equipment Page While Picking Characters
There are several challenges in Honkai: Star Rail where players have to pick their characters before entering. Of course, this is not new as it’s also available in Genshin Impact, but what Star Rail does better is the fact that people are free to change their equipment while composing the lineup without having to exit the selection page.
Meanwhile, if players are picking characters for, let’s say, Genshin Impact Spiral Abyss, they have to continuously go in and out if they wish to check their character’s equipment, which can be truly troublesome.
3 Standard Banner Character Pick
It’s a popular meme that Qiqi is the number one pity ruiner in Genshin Impact, but there are still a lot of people who have never been haunted by the little zombie (yet wish to be). Unfortunately, since it’s all RNG, there’s no way to obtain a Standard Character that Travelers wish to have.
Meanwhile, in Honkai: Star Rail, after accumulating 300 pulls on the Standard Banner, Trailblazers are free to pick whichever 5-star Standard Character they wish to have, which allows them to have who they want without having to beg to the RNG spirit.
2 Dispatch Again Button On Expedition
Expedition in Genshin Impact is called assignment in Honkai: Star Rail. The two are somewhat similar and there’s nothing interesting from it, but the fact that Star Rail has a Dispatch Again button can be irritating for long-term Genshin Impact players since this QoL feature has been asked for a long time.
Instead of having to choose everything all over again, Trailblazers can simply press the button if they wish to send their characters on the same errand. Meanwhile, Travelers have to spend one extra click in Genshin Impact; outrageous!
1 Hide Conversation Button
A lot of moments in Genshin Impact’s story are screenshot-worthy, but sadly, most of the time, the moment is just blocked by the conversation box. Fortunately, this is fixed in Honkai: Star Rail where players can truly enjoy the characters by hiding the conversation box.
People who love to share their favorite moments will surely appreciate having this button implemented in Genshin Impact, although of course, there’s no sign that it will be in the near future.
