Remnant 2 has Relics that serve the same purpose as potions in other games. These consumables can boost specific attributes or heal the player’s character. Since these consumables have a large role to play in Remnant 2, upgrading them is of the utmost importance.

Remnant 2 has several kinds of Relics, each with its effects and bonuses. However, many players do not upgrade their Relics because they do not know how. This guide will look at how players can upgrade Relics in Remnant 2, along with a few other helpful bits of information.

Players can upgrade Relics in Remnant 2 in one of two ways:

1. Increase Relic Capacity

Players can only upgrade Relics after accessing the Ward 13 hub area, which can be unlocked after defeating the game’s first boss, Root Mantis. After gaining access to the Ward 13 hub area, look for Wallace. Players can exchange the following items with Wallace to upgrade Relic capacity:

  • 1000x Scrap
  • 1x Simulacrum
  • 10x Lumenite Crystals

Wallace will increase the character’s Relic Capacity by providing the required materials, allowing players to hold more Relics. With more Relics, players can take on multiple enemies without worrying about survivability.

2. Increase Relic Effectiveness

Players can increase the effectiveness of Relics via Relic Fragment Slots. Players can add Relic Fragments to these slots for additional bonuses when a Relic is used. Bonuses from Relic Fragments range from a reduction in cooldowns to increasing the potency of Relics.

When a player comes across a better Relic Fragment, they can swap it with an existing one. Relic Fragments are littered throughout the world of Remnant 2, so keep an eye out for them.

As the player starts progressing in the game, they will encounter difficult enemies and worlds, making it a necessity for them to acquire better Relic Fragments. Additionally, players can buy Relic Fragments from merchants if they can’t find what they are looking for.

Remnant 2 is pretty challenging for players that want a Soulslike experience, so they will need all the help they can get to take on hordes of the undead. Regardless of the Relic that is equipped, the upgrades are universal. With each upgrade, players will get more Relic uses, which may not sound like a big deal, but it can make all the difference in the world for players that can’t keep up with increasingly difficult enemies.

Remnant 2 is available on Xbox Series S/X, PlayStation 5, and PC.
