There are plenty of mini-games in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes, but not all of them are available right away. In fact, when the game first gets started, players won't have access to any of them, with each one becoming available over time. One of the first mini-games that can access is fishing, though for this to happen, they'll first need to get their hands on a fishing rod.

Kickstarter has become a great way to fund a game and get it out there, but which campaigns have been the most successful?

Thankfully, finding a fishing rod in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes is incredibly simple if one already knows where to look. The fishing mini-game isn't particularly complicated either, although there are a few little quirks that players may need some time to wrap their heads around. With that in mind, the following Eiyuden Chronicle fishing guide should come in handy for new players.

How to Get a Fishing Rod in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Players can get a fishing rod by speaking with a character called Huang in Arenside: the game's starting area. However, Huang won't be there right away. Instead, players will need to progress through the main story until they reach Eltisweiss, then return to the Grum County-North region by passing through Fort Xialuke, which they'll find to the north of the world map screen.

From there, they should head back to Arenside and make their way to the southwestern corner of the settlement, which is where they'll find Huang. The spot he's standing in is actually just to the south of where players first began their adventure. Speaking with Huang and choosing the "Love it." dialog option will result in him handing over the Bamboo Rod, which can then be used to catch fish at any of the game's fishing spots.

How to Fish in Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes

Once they have a fishing rod, players can catch fish by heading to any of the wooden piers on the world map screen and pressing the action button. Doing so will cause Nowa to drop his line into the water, at which point, the fishing mini-game will begin. To catch a fish, players just need to wait until the float goes completely under the water and an exclamation mark appears above Nowa's head. As soon as it does, they should press the action button again to catch whatever's on the line.

Unfortunately, there are only a finite number of fish at each fishing spot, meaning that players will likely catch all that there is to catch in just a matter of minutes. Fish will respawn over time though and there are plenty of fishing spots scattered throughout the game, so this shouldn't prove to be too much of an issue. These aren't exactly the most well-fleshed-out video game fishing mechanics either, so some will probably argue that it's a good thing that the game keeps fishing sessions fairly short.
