World of Warcraft was originally released in 2004 and has managed to remain relevant for nearly two decades. Part of the success of the game is due to the large volume of content that World of Warcraft continues to deliver to fans. The DLCs for the title seem to be consistently ambitious, and the upcoming add-on called Dragonflight doesn't look to be an exception. In fact, Dragonflight will allow players to participate in a closed alpha, though not everyone will have access.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight introduces a new race and takes fans through what promises to be a truly unique journey. In order to make sure that the DLC is as good as possible, however, the World of Warcraft developers are relying on an alpha test to work out the kinks.

How to Join the Dragonflight Alpha

Joining the World of Warcraft: Dragonflight alpha isn't complicated, though it does require a bit of chance.

To join, players will need to go to the Dragonflight page of Blizzard's website. By scrolling down, they'll find a button that says "Beta Opt-in."

Fans will need to press that button to sign up for the alpha, even though it says beta, and then wait for a response from Blizzard telling them that they have been accepted into the alpha. From there, players are only a few steps away from experiencing World of Warcraft's newest fantasy world.

After receiving confirmation, gamers will need to open Battle.net and navigate to World of Warcraft in their game menu. From there, the Region/Account will need to be changed to Alpha: Dragonflight.

Players will need to install the Dragonflight TEST. Fans will know that the content has been downloaded when the TEST button becomes a PLAY button. World of Warcraft fans can then enter the game and create a new character or transfer one to the alpha.

The Dragonflight alpha will not require a purchase of any kind, and there will be another opportunity for gamers to play the new DLC before it releases.

The main things that players will be experiencing with the alpha will consist of new locations, races, story beats, and long-awaited UI changes.

Indeed, the new World of Warcraft dragons and content, even on a small scale, should be enough for fans during the alpha. Hopefully, this next addition to the classic multiplayer role-playing game will be a step toward an exciting and unique frontier.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight will be available at the end of 2022.
