Many modern video game developers have developed an annoying habit of cramming so much content into their games that they can often end up feeling bloated. This isn't a complaint that could ever be levied against Ghostwire: Tokyo though, at least not when it comes to the game's main story, anyway. It ultimately offers a remarkably streamlined experience, which players are able to complete in a surprisingly short amount of time.

Though some players will no doubt be a little disappointed with how brief the main story is, others may well find it a little refreshing, particularly at a time when other developers are bragging about how their games will take hundreds of hours to complete. Many people just don't have time for that due to their personal and professional commitments, and so should really appreciate what Ghostwire: Tokyo has to offer.

Most players will need somewhere between ten and fifteen hours to complete Ghostwire: Tokyo's six-chapter main story. This is assuming that they ignore pretty much all of the side content though, which can help to pad out the game's length quite a bit for anyone looking to get a little more bang for their buck. This includes a number of unique and enjoyable side quests, as well as the inevitable collectible sets that have become synonymous with modern sandbox games.

Those who endeavor to track down every collectible, complete every side quest, and unlock every trophy/achievement can expect to spend around 30 hours or so with the game. It's worth noting though that this time can vary quite a bit depending on how thorough players are, whether or not they use guides, and how quickly they're able to master the game's combat. However, with multiple difficulty settings available right from the get-go, most players shouldn't have too much trouble tailoring the level of challenge to their own skill level.

Does Ghostwire: Tokyo Have a New Game Plus Mode?

Anyone looking to further extend their playtime could opt to start a brand-new playthrough. However, unlike in a more traditional New Game Plus mode, their stats, skills, and upgrades won't carry over. They will be able to hold onto their outfits, emotes, camera filters, and music tracks, but with no increased difficulty option or additional content on offer, there's arguably very little point to doing so.

Ghostwire: Tokyo is available now on PC and PS5.
