Aloy’s journey to the Burning Shores in the Horizon Forbidden West expansion has brought many improvements to the game, especially when it comes to weaponry. There are nine new Legendary weapons for Aloy to use in combat, one of which has been developed with Far Zenith technology.

The Specter Gauntlet allows Aloy to harness the power of Horizon Forbidden West’s antagonists and lets players experience the God-like power they bore on them during the main story. Thankfully, the Specter Gauntlet isn’t tricky to find – but it does require players to complete a portion of the main story and a side quest to unlock its full potential.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores - How To Get The Specter Gauntlet

The Specter Gauntlet on the ground

The Specter Gauntlet can be found at the end of “The Stars In Their Eyes” main mission, which is the first time Aloy and Sekya come face to face with the Horus in the Hollywood Hills. They soon discover that the missing Quen has been residing here, all under the control of Walter Londra. As they head deeper into the facility, they find out the Far Zenith is building another rocket inside the Horus using its printing matrix.

A fight ensues after the guards discover their ruse, and Aloy is confronted with Zeth, one of the Quen’s strongmen, who’s using a modified Zenith weapon with honing projectiles. Once the player defeats Zeth, Aloy will scan the Specter Gauntlet before taking it. Once equipped, she can fire shards modified for use as a barrage of energized projectiles.

Horizon Forbidden West: Burning Shores - How To Upgrade The Specter Gauntlet

Pirik's Key and Aloy looting Railgun Component from him

The Specter Gauntlet requires a special component to upgrade, which can be found in the “In His Wake” side quest. Once again involving the Quen, the mission leads Aloy to Pirki’s camp, one of Landra’s lackeys who has taken some of the tribe hostage. Once the player finds and frees them, they must find Pirik by locating his key and entering his room.

Aloy soon realizes that Pirik has escaped using a tunnel at the back of the room, which leads to another battle involving a Specter Gauntlet. After Aloy defeats Pirik, players can loot the Railgun Component from his weapon to upgrade their own version of the Specter Gauntlet back at a workbench. This will enable the use of a highly accurate, long-range laser shot.
