The Abyssal Woods is one of the more unique areas in Elden Ring: Shadow Of The Erdtree as players won't be able to summon and ride Torrent despite its large and open size. While exploration can be tedious, there is also a unique enemy that players will need to worry about known as the Untouchables.

These enemies have many orange eyes along their large heads, and can't be attacked or damaged like other enemies. There are many of these creatures along the path players need to go, making getting past them a necessity and, luckily, players have more options than they may think.

How To Get Past The Abyssal Woods Madness Enemies In Shadow Of The Erdtree

The main method for getting past these enemies is by using stealth. There will be lots of tall grass players can crouch in to block the line of sight even if the enemies get too close. As long as the enemies don't directly see you while crouching, players will be able to run past them. In the large grass will be tall plants with orange berries that will explode and make noise should players get close, but these are fairly easy to spot and avoid.

These creatures react to any noise, giving players a few ways of getting their attention. Throwing weapons or shooting a bow will draw the creature's attention to wherever the projectile lands. It's important to know that bows do make noise when fired and will get the creature's attention if they are already too close. Other useful options include the Smithscript weapons such as the Smithscript Spear. This spear can be thrown silently and will make the creature turn in a different direction to give the player time to get past.

How To Kill The Untouchables In Shadow Of The Erdtree

Players are able to kill Untouchables, but it will first require them to land a parry. Whenever these enemies get close, they will raise their wand before landing a grab attack. Right before unleashing the attack, the tip of their wand will light up orange, indicating the moment to parry. Once parried, these enemies can be critically hit, dealing large amounts of damage to them.

After critically hitting the enemy, they will be left vulnerable to regular attacks and can be killed the same as any other enemy. The best part about killing these enemies is that they don't respawn, making further exploration much easier. Despite these enemies being the biggest threat in the Abyssal Woods, killing them won't give players the ability to summon Torrent.
