All Weapons & Their Locations In Returnal

Unfortunately, Returnal's approach to weapons makes giving advice on where to find them difficult. While weapons are set to spawn in specific locations, they are randomized within that location. That means that if a weapon is set to spawn in the Overgrown Ruins, players will have to loot all the chests in the area to find it. The chest will change from player to player, meaning it can be a little difficult to find some of these weapons. However, all the weapons in the game are pretty amazing, meaning that players will have a great time with any that they obtain while playing. Here's a list of all the weapons, their types, and their locations.

All Alternative Fire Modes In Returnal

Selene pointing a gun in Returnal

All weapons in the game can also have Alternative Fire Modes. Once players unlock the Atropian Weapon Charger (located in the Overgrown Ruins), they will unlock these modes for all their weapons. An Alternate Fire Mode is just another way to use the gun and will not change the way the gun is normally used. Instead, it adds an extra attack via the gun. Here are all the modes and what they do.

  • Blast Shell - Shoots out a grenade-like object to take out large groups of enemies.
  • Doom Bringer - Releases an orb that damages everything in its path.
  • Horizontal Barrage - Shoots a lot of bullets in a horizontal line.
  • Killsight - Allows the player to use a sniper rifle shot.
  • Proximity Mine - Shoots out an explosive mine that explodes when things come near it.
  • Shieldbreaker - Shoots through enemy shields.
  • Shockstream - Releases a stream of shockwaves that hit enemies.
  • Tendril Pod - Releases a pod that summons tendrils to attack anything near it.
  • Trackerswarm - Shoots a large amount of bugs that will attack whatever is near them.
  • Vertical Barrage - Shoots a lot of bullets in a vertical line.
  • Void Beam - Shoots out a void beam that will hit anything in its path.
