House of the Dragon has burst on the scene and become incredibly popular among Game of Thrones fans. The story features the Targaryen civil war where dragons fought dragons and Targaryens fought each other.
The result of this civil war ripped the Targaryen House from power and essentially became the beginning of the end for them. House of the Dragon tells the story in its entirety. Around this time, Westeros was home to quite a lot of powerful characters. That said, only a few were truly dangerous, and made sure even those with the mightiest of power were wary of them.
8 Larys Strong
Larys Strong was introduced in the very first season of House of the Dragon. He is the brother of Harwin Strong and a very close confidant of Queen Alicent Hightower. While he may not look dangerous on the surface, Larys is a very cunning man. In the past, he has murdered his own brother and done quite a lot of dirty work for Alicent.
At the same time, he also coerced Alicent into vile things in exchange for information. Larys desires power and to get that, he will go to any lengths, however, he does all of this from behind the scenes.
7 Corlys Velaryon
Corlys is at the helm of one of the most powerful houses in Westeros at this point in House of the dragon. He is the Lord of the Tides and currently resides in Driftmark. Corlys has an incredibly powerful naval force which makes him one of the strongest men in Westeros.
However, power isn't all he has going for himself. He is a very shrewd man and knows only to support people who help him maintain his power and protect what is rightfully his.
6 Rhaenyra Targaryen
Rhaenyra Targaryen is one of the protagonists of House of the Dragon and, as such, is naturally going to be a very layered character. While she is kind at heart, she can also be very fierce. Being one of the main characters in House of the Dragon, it goes without saying that Rhaenyra has a thirst for power.
At the same time, her grief that followed the death of her son Lucerys only made her colder. In the Dance, Rhaenyra becomes merciless and fiercely protects her own family. To that end, she would do anything, and destroy everyone in her way and that shows that she is a very dangerous woman.
5 Aegon Targaryen
Aegon Targaryen is the first-born son of Viserys Targaryen and his second wife, Alicent Hightower. While Aegon had no interest in being King, he was crowned as the Lord of the Seven Kingdoms and Protector of the Realm following Viserys' death and a misinterpretation of the Song of Ice and Fire.
Aegon might not appear to be dangerous, however, now that he has taken up the mantle of King, he will most certainly display more authority than ever before.
4 Cregan Stark
Cregan Stark has not yet appeared in House of the Dragon, however, he's due to make his appearance in the second season of the show. Being one of the most charismatic characters in the series, Cregan is most certainly going to be one of the most dangerous men in Westeros.
He is the Warden of the North, after all, and, as mentioned by Roose Bolton once in Game of Thrones, the North is larger than all the six other Kingdoms combined. Crega n holds tremendous power and with a shrewd head atop his shoulders, he is certainly dangerous.
3 Otto Hightower
Otto Hightower is one of the main characters in House of the Dragon. At the beginning of the story, he was introduced as the hand to Viserys Targaryen, the man who sat the Iron Throne at the time. Otto is one of the perpetrators of the Dance of the Dragons.
It was only due to him that Alicent was trapped in a loveless marriage with Viserys and forced to breed heirs for the King. He wanted his house to rise to greatness and consolidate power and that is certainly something that he managed to accomplish. A man such as him is certainly worthy of being ranked among the most dangerous men in Westeros.
2 Aemond Targaryen
Aemond Targaryen is yet another intriguing character who fights for the Greens. He is the son of Alicent and Viserys, however, second-in-line to the throne after Aegon.
While Aegon wasted his youth away, Aemond read books and studied the blade. He was also the one who managed to tame Vhagar, the mightiest of the dragons alive at this point in time in House of the Dragon. He is rivaled only by one man.
1 Daemon Targaryen
Undoubtedly, the most dangerous man in Westeros at this point is the man who holds this title canonically and that is none other than Daemon Targaryen. Daemon is the brother of King Viserys Targaryen. At the beginning of the series, Daemon intended to be King, however, he was eventually cast aside for Rhaenyra.
To achieve power, Daemon would go to any lengths. He has killed people who stood in his way and married for power. At the same time, he is also a very skilled fighter and he rides the dragon Caraxes, which makes him a feared man across the Seven Kingdoms.
