Like the original Game of Thrones, this show will feature beloved established actors, while at the same time unveiling a host of incredibly talented actors to the world on a grand scale.

One such actor is Emma D'Arcy, who outside of a few long-running television show roles, has yet to land a breakout project. They'll be playing a key role in House of the Dragon, following a career filled with numerous movie and television roles of varying budgets and scales.

8 Mothering Sunday (Movie)

In Emma D'Arcy's most recent credited movie role, they play Emma Hobday, a woman set to marry one of the movie's main characters. Paul is the man she is obligated to marry, but the story focuses on Paul's affair with a maid named Jane.

Mothering Sunday is the title of this romantic drama rooted in British culture and setting. It is considered a middle-of-the-road experience by critics but happened to win an award for having an outstanding performance by a female lead, Odessa Young as Jane Fairchild.

7 Misbehaviour (Movie)

Emma DArcy in Misbehavior

As with most first-time movie roles, Emma D'Arcy's first credited role was a minor part as a character named Hazel in 2020's Misbehaviour. The movie stars Keira Knightley and Gugu Mbatha-Raw in a comedy-drama that received generally positive criticism.

The show is set in the backdrop of the 1970 Miss World competition and focuses on a women's liberation movement that is formed in response to the belief that those types of events serve to simply objectify women. This might be a smaller role that fans of D'Arcy look back on fondly in the future when the actor appears in many more projects.

6 Hanna (TV)

Emma DArcy in Hanna

In 2019 Amazon Prime released a television series named Hanna, based on a movie of the same name that was originally released in 2011. Emma D'Arcy played a small guest role, appearing as Sonia Richter in two episodes in the show's second season.

Those episodes were the second and third of the season and were titled "The Trial" and "To The Meadows". Hanna starred Esme Creed-Miles in the lead role and also featured performances by Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad) and Anthony Welsh (The Great).

5 Baptiste (TV)

Emma DArcy in Baptiste

If Baptiste wasn't as decently-received as it was critically, it'd be hard to place this on the list of performances by Emma D'Arcy simply due to it being a very limited role. On their official IMDB page, D'Arcy is credited as "Girl at NA Meeting" which indicates just how little of a role they were given.

This show served as a spinoff of the show The Missing, and due to middling reviews, Baptiste only ran for two seasons. Those who are into psychological dramas and/or thriller mysteries might find the show entertaining if only to see D'Arcy's cameo appearance in the early part of the second season.

4 Foresight (TV)

Emma DArcy in Foresight

Foresight is the last completed project for Emma D'Arcy before shooting House of the Dragon, as the television mini-series released in 2021. D'Arcy plays a nurse as the show is set in the near future, in the year 2080.

The focus of Foresight deals with climate change and how it's drastically changed the living conditions of humans. Most end up leaving an unhabitable Earth, but those who stayed live in isolation. As to be expected, a discovery by these nomadic people results in a discovery that could change everything.

3 House Of The Dragon (TV)

Emma DArcy in House of Dragons

Though the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon has yet to release, it will likely hit a certain level of quality simply based on the team behind it. Emma D'Arcy will be playing Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, a role pivotal to the show and the royal lineage of Westeros.

Despite the finale few seasons of Game of Thrones leaving a bad taste in the audience's mouths, the trailers have built enough hype and anticipation for people to be excited about diving back into a world they fell in love with. If the show is well-received Emma D'Arcy's IMDB page will likely fill up with opportunities that will showcase their talents. The original Game of Thrones launched the careers of many actors, so it's fair to assume this prequel series will do the same.

2 Wanderlust (TV)

Emma DArcy in Wanderlust

In 2018's Wanderlust miniseries, Emma D'Arcy plays Naomi Richards, the 18-year-old daughter of Toni Collette's character Joy Richards, and Alan Richards played by Steven Mackintosh. The show is a vehicle for Toni Collette as she played a couples' therapist whose life is intertwined with the issues of her patients.

It's an exploration of self-destructive behavior and how often those who advise others on interpersonal issues rarely tend to take their advice, leading to a culmination of issues they're left to deal with.

1 Truth Seekers (TV)

Emma DArcy Truth Seeker

Anything starring comedians Simon Pegg and Nick Frost is bound to draw an audience and a laugh, and that's exactly what 2020 comedy Truth Seekers did as an Amazon Original. It isn't as critically acclaimed as their films but is worth the watch according to audiences and critics alike.

This show is currently Emma D'Arcy's longest-running role in a television series as they played a young woman named Astrid who had several ghosts haunting her. The show was canceled after just one season, but for those looking to experience D'Arcy in an extended capacity, it is available on Amazon Prime Video.
