Lucerys Velaryon becomes the first casualty of the Targaryen civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons in House of the Dragon season 1, episode 10, "The Black Queen." He and his dragon, Arrax are killed while riding out of Storm's End by Aemond Targaryen's she-dragon, Vhagar. Lucerys' death not only exacerbates the Dance but paves way for more character deaths, some of which will most likely take place in the upcoming season 2.

8 Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen

The Blood and Cheese event will likely take place in House of the Dragon season 2. Blood is the alias of a butcher and a disgraced former sergeant of the City Watch and Cheese that of ratcatcher. Together they sneak into the Red Keep, make their way into Alicent Hightower's chambers, and wait for Helaena and her children to arrive. Blood beheads King Aegon II and Helaena's firstborn son, the six-year-old, Jaehaerys.

Mysaria at Daemon Targaryen's orders organizes the Blood and Cheese event as retribution for Lucerys Velaryon's death. Blood flees with Jaehaerys' head, and Cheese is never heard of again. Prince Jaehaerys' assassination will be a horrifying moment in House of the Dragon season 2.

7 Helaena Targaryen

The sister-wife of King Aegon II, Helaena Targaryen descends into madness after her son, Jaehaerys is brutally murdered before her very eyes. She restricts herself to her room and stops riding her dragon, Dreamfyre.

Helaena's grief consumes her, and she's taken captive when King's Landing falls to Rhaenyra. She eventually jumps from her room in Maegor's Holdfast and dies on the spikes below. If Helaena's death makes it to House of the Dragon season 2, it will be one of the most gruesome events of the Dance.

6 Dreamfyre

Dragons are crucial to House of the Dragon's storytelling. Since they play a key role in the political machinations of the Seven Kingdoms, they hold as much importance as the show's characters.

Dreamfyre becomes riderless when Helaena descends into madness. The she-dragon spends her last days chained to the Dragonpit. She dies when the people of King's Landing storm the Dragonpit. She is nicked in the eye by a crossbow bolt and crushed to death under the Dragonpit's rubble. Her death will highly likely follow Helaena's death in House of the Dragon.

5 Blood

Prince Jaehaerys' assassin, Blood the butcher is captured two days after the assassination at the Gate of the Gods. Under severe torture, he admits to having been hired by a woman whose description fits Mysaria's, following which King Aegon suggests the Greens launch an attack on Dragonstone. Blood dies on the thirteenth day of the torture.

Blood and Cheese will likely make it to season 2, and Blood's testimony will help the Greens in solving the assassination of Prince Jaehaerys.

4 Rhaenys Targaryen

Rhaenys escapes on Meleys in House of the Dragon.

Princess Rhaenys Targaryen, aka, the "Queen Who Never Was" joins Rhaenyra's faction in House of the Dragon season 1. She will become one of the casualties of the Dance while fighting Aegon Targaryen II and Sunfyre and Prince Aemond Targaryen and Vhagar in the Battle at Rook's Rest.

Overpowered, Rhaenys suffers heavy injuries and dies while Aegon's dragon, Sunfyre is rendered flightless. Her death deals a blow to her husband, Corlys Velaryon, and the Black faction. While the timeline of the events of Dance remains unclear, the Battle at Rook's Rest could likely be a part of House of the Dragon season 2.

3 Meleys

Rhaenys Targaryen's dragon, Meleys will also suffer heavy injuries during the combat with Aegon's Sunfyre and Aemond's Vhagar. The she-dragon's attacks inflict massive damage on Sunfyre and rip off half his wing. Eventually, Rhaenys and Meleys are overpowered due to the combined strength of their opponents. Meleys fights two dragons on the opposing side to the best of her ability but is rendered helpless.

This dragon warfare at Rook's Rest culminates in the demise of one of the oldest and largest dragons, Meleys. Chances are high that the Battle at Rook's Rest will make it to House of the Dragon season 2.

2 Ser Arryk Cargyll

Ser Arryk and his twin brother, Ser Erryk Cargyll were members of King Viserys' Kingsguard. They parted ways during the Dance of the Dragons and joined opposing Green and Black factions. Ser Arryk sided with King Aegon II while Ser Erryk joined the Blacks led by Rhaenyra Targaryen.

The Cargyll brother's duel takes place after the assassination of Prince Jaehaerys Targaryen by Blood and Cheese. Arryk infiltrates Dragonstone posing as his brother on Aegon's Lord Commander, Ser Criston's orders. Coincidentally, Erryk encounters him, and the two brothers mortally wound each other. The duel should take place in season 2, and if so, it will be one of the most fascinating fights of the Dance.

1 Ser Erryk Cargyll

Erryk Cargyll bends the knee to Rhaenyra Targaryen in House of the Dragon.

The Dance of the Dragons will be the death of the Cargyll twins. Their rivalry was set up in House of the Dragon season 1, episode 9, "The Green Council." They parted ways due to differences of opinion about Aegon II, following which Ser Erryk arrived in Dragonstone and bent the knee to Rhaenyra Targaryen.

Arryk's infiltration attempt is thwarted midway by his brother Erryk while the former is making his way to the royal apartments. The duel of the Cargyll twins will probably be included in House of the Dragon season 2, and it's tragic to its very core.
