George R.R. Martin's creation that is the world of A Song of Ice and Fire is filled with diverse characters, wondrous heroes, and heinous villains. A lot of those characters got introduced in the House of the Dragon series, based on the Dance of the Dragons storyline from the book Fire and Blood. While fans have already been introduced to a wide array of characters, there are still more the show has yet to introduce.

Some of the most important figures of the Dance of the Dragons are yet to appear in the show. Those who have read the books are highly certain, or are at least hoping, to finally see these characters on screen. Given how the first season ended and where the story is going, these characters may just grace the viewers with their presence in the second season.

9 Jeyne Arryn

Jace and Luke on Dragonback leaving Dragonstone.

During the events of the Dance of the Dragons, Jeyne Arryn was head of House Arryn. To strengthen her army, Rhaenyra sent her son, Jacaerys Velaryon, to the north to speak to the heads of certain houses. Jacaerys made his first stop at the Eyrie to urge Lady Arryn to fight for the queen.

Jeyne Arryn was said to be promiscuous and head-strong. It's said in the books that she made advances on Jace in a hilarious manner, but this story comes from an unreliable narrator. Perhaps fans will see Jace and Lady Arryn's first interaction when season two comes around.

8 Cregan Stark

Cregan Stark and Jace Velaryon.

Cregan Stark was the Lord of Winterfell during the events of the House of the Dragon. When Rhaenyra sent Jace to the north to gather allies, Jace's last stop was Winterfell. Jace and Cregan were about the same age. Despite believing in different gods, the two became close and formed a kinship. The two would drink, hunt, and train together. Cregan was particularly fond of Jace as he reminded him of his late younger brother.

Cregan Stark, like most Starks, is a strong, loyal, and very honorable character. If he does appear in the second season, and he most likely will, fans will definitely be delighted to see Winterfell again and be introduced to another member of the beloved house Stark.

7 Blood and Cheese

Official art detailing the aftermath of the actions of Blood and Cheese.

Blood and Cheese are separate characters, but they're remembered and often named as one by many fans due to the terrible action done by both men during the Dance. Blood and Cheese's real names are not known. What is known about them is that Blood was a butcher and used to be a sergeant in the City Watch, while Cheese was a ratcatcher in King's Landing.

Blood and Cheese were hired by Lady Misery to sneak into the Red Keep. Due to his experience as a ratcatcher, Cheese was extremely familiar of the layout of the castle's hidden tunnels. The two would finally infiltrate the Red Keep and commit an act that would further deepen the hatred between the Greens and the Blacks and plummet the Seven Kingdoms into chaos.

6 Daeron Targaryen

daeron targaryen house of the dragon

Daeron Targaryen was the youngest son of Viserys Targaryen and Alicent Hightower. Daeron was sent to Oldtown to act as the cupbearer and squire to Lord Ormund Hightower when he was 12 years old, which explains his absence in the show's first season.

When the Dance of the Dragons began, Daeron went to war along with Lord Ormund. His efforts, along with his dragon Tessarion gave the Greens several victories. Ormund Hightower knighted him and gave him the nickname "Daeron the Daring." Daeron becomes a prominent figure during the war, and it is highly likely fans will finally see him in the second season of the show.

5 Alys Rivers

Harrenhall as shown in the House of the Dragon.

Alys Rivers was a mysterious woman. She was a bastard who served house Strong and resided in Harrenhal. She claims to be about 40 years old during the events of the Dance of the Dragons, but she has the appearance of a much younger woman. Alys saw visions by looking straight at flames, similar to how Red Priestesses see visions in Game of Thrones.

Alys would later meet Aemond Targaryen. When Aemond ordered the deaths of the members of house Strong, he spared Alys and made her his bedmate instead. The two would later develop a close relationship.

4 Nettles

Daemon Targaryen from House of the Dragon.

When the Blacks realized they had a number of unclaimed dragons in Dragonstone, Prince Jacaerys sought out Targaryen bastards to become dragonriders Rhaenyra's army. These bastards were known as "dragonseeds." While many tried to bond with dragons, even those who aren't dragonseeds at all, four of them eventually succeeded. One of these was Nettles.

Nettles managed to bond with the dragon Sheepstealer by feeding him sheep every morning. As a dragonrider, Nettles was fierce and brave. She also eventually became close with Daemon Targaryen. While some saw their relationship akin to that of a man and his daughter, some believed the relationship was more romantic.

3 Hugh The Hammer

Vermithor spewing fire before Daemon from House of the Dragon.

Hugh the Hammer was one of the dragonseeds that managed to claim a dragon during the Dance of the Dragon. Hugh bonded with a dragon fans have already seen a glimpse of in the first season, Vermithor. Vermithor was the former dragon of Jaehaerys I and the second-largest dragon at the time next to Vhagar, Aemond Targaryen's dragon.

When not on dragonback, Hugh wielded a warhammer, hence his name. He was strong and massive, yet dull and had a bad temper. Despite his misgivings, he and Vermithor was a key asset of Rhaenyra's forces. That is, of course, until ambition got the best of him.

2 Ulf The White

Dragonstone from House of the Dragon.

Ulf the White was an illiterate drunk. He, however, had the blood of the dragon in him. He became one of the Black's four new dragonriders. Ulf bonded with Silverwing, thought to be the most docile dragons at the time. Despite this and Ulf's alcoholism, they fought fiercely and terrifyingly whenever summoned to battle.

When Ulf wasn't called to arms, he apparently drowned himself in wine and flesh. He was dull and unassuming, yet needed by the Blacks during the Dance of the Dragons. His character, along with Hugh the Hammer, fans will surely find them memorable should they be introduced in the second season. For all the wrong reasons.

1 Addam of Hull

Laenor and Corlys Velaryon from House of the Dragon.

Addam is one of the four dragonseeds that bonded with a dragon when the Blacks called for dragonriders. Addam's mother claimed that he and his brother were the illegitimate sons of Laenor Velaryon, though many would find this claim unreliable. Others thought that they were bastard children of Corlys Velaryon instead.

Addam proved himself by bonding with Seasmoke, Laenor's former dragon. He was known to be determined and loyal. Whatever Addam's parentage may be, he eventually curried the favor of Corlys Velaryon, who would later call for his legitimacy.
