Growing up, it was great to play with toy cars and build unique tracks for them to race on. With Hot Wheels Unleashed, the developers wanted players to get a similar feeling of being able to race in these cool vehicles and also create tracks for them to be showcased on.

Of course, being able to build the tracks can be a lot of fun as Hot Wheels Unleashed provides a plethora of tools to use for the track and different environments to use as set pieces. But there are some who just want to race on the custom tracks and there are some steps that need to be taken to do so.

Where To Find Custom Tracks

Community Track Menu for Hot Wheels Unleashed

Upon booting up the game, players will see two different ways to navigate the menu. First, there is a list of options going vertically that include the campaign mode and multiplayer. Then, there is a list of options on the top left that can be navigated. Those who want to look for custom tracks should go to "Track Builder." Once here, select "Community Tracks."

From here, players can look through all the custom tracks under the "All" menu. To look for the most popular custom tracks, check out the "Most Likes" tab that will focus on the all-time most liked tracks. "Most Liked Weekly" and "Most Liked Monthly" look at the most popular tracks in a much smaller time span, specifically in more recent times.

To save a track before it may disappear from the popular tabs, players can hit the button prompt on the bottom left of the screen that says "Add to favorite tracks." This will add the course for it can be used by people under that profile under the "Favorites" tab. Do keep in mind that these tracks can be difficult and will lead to a lot of mistakes being made.

How To Play Custom Tracks

The current options for playing the custom tracks are limited to just a couple of modes. For those playing single player, the only way to experience the course is by going to "Quick Modes" on the menu at the top of the main screen and selecting "Time Attack."

Once on the course select screen in this mode, players will see a button prompt on the bottom left that indicates "Community Tracks." This will bring up every custom track readily available in the game, including a section for favorites. This mode allows the driver to go through the course but with no other racers, simply trying to get the best time on the course.

For those who want to play a track with multiple people, they must do it over online. Those playing randomly with others will see custom tracks show up as potential options before a race. However, those who are running private lobbies will be able to choose from their community tracks if they would like by following the same process on the course select screen.

At this time, there is no option to do single player Quick Races or Split Screen local multiplayer with the custom courses. It is unknown at this time if that will come in a future update.

Hot Wheels Unleashed is out now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
