The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope is coming to the Nintendo Switch on October 5. The Nintendo Switch may not exactly be well-known for its huge library of horror games, but that doesn't mean the genre still isn't represented on the platform.

There are a nice selection of horror games available on the Nintendo Switch, including The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan from Supermassive Games. The Dark Pictures Anthology is a series of horror games that mimic the choice-based narrative style established by Supermassive in its popular Until Dawn game. There have been four main series Dark Pictures games released so far, and soon the first two games in the series will be playable on the Switch.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan released for Switch earlier this year, and now the sequel, Little Hope, will release for the platform on October 5. The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope takes some inspiration from Konami's Silent Hill series and has a group of strangers exploring the creepy town of Little Hope. As expected, they are subjected to all kinds of supernatural happenings. Like with other titles from Supermassive Games, player choice determines who lives and who dies in Little Hope. Little Hope earned mixed reviews from critics, but it has a Mostly Positive user score rating on Steam.

One of Dark Pictures' gimmicks is how it casts Hollywood talent in key roles. Man of Medan featured Shawn Ashmore, whereas Little Hope features Will Poulter. Starting October 5, Nintendo Switch gamers can find out exactly what happens with Will Poulter and his character in Little Hope.

Horror fans on Switch hoping for more Dark Pictures games are in luck, as it's likely the other games in the main series will make their way to the home console/handheld platform at some point down the line. If the pattern keeps up, chances are good that The Dark Pictures Anthology: House of Ashes and The Devil in Me will be available for the Switch by this time next year. House of Ashes stars Ashley Tisdale, whereas The Devil in Me stars Jessie Buckley.

It's possible that other games in The Dark Pictures franchise will make their way to the Nintendo Switch at some point in the future as well, like the next main series installment, for instance. The Dark Pictures: Directive 8020 is the next game in the horror franchise, with this one going for a sci-fi horror vibe. Further details about Directive 8020 are unavailable at the time of this writing, so it's unclear if it will launch on Switch alongside its other versions, but horror fans on Nintendo's platform can check out the first two games in the series while they wait for more information on that front.

The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X with a Switch version coming October 5.
