Scattered throughout the open world of Horizon Forbidden West are Vista Point Towers that offer experience and flavor text to players determined enough to seek them out, with a special bonus reward for completing all nine. This guide will detail how to find and complete Vista Point: Isle of Spires in Horizon Forbidden West.

Where to Find the Vista Point: Isle of Spires (Spoilers Ahead)

While players can scan the Vista Point tower any time after arriving at the Isle of Spires, Vista Point: Isle of Spires can only be completed after the main quest ‘Wings of the Ten,' which unlocks the Sunwing mount for vertical exploration.

To reach the tower (circled in red), Aloy must travel to the Isle of Spires on the westernmost side of the map after unlocking the ability to fly towards the end of the main quest. The tower itself is located at the south end of the Isle, beside the dilapidated ruins of Sutro Tower. These lie to the west of ‘Tallneck: Landfall,' north of the ‘Boat to the Mainland’ and southwest of ‘Legacy’s Landfall’ and ‘The Digsite’ that Aloy visits during the quest ‘Faro’s Tomb.'

To find the tower, players should look for the rusty, ivy-covered antenna which sits at the eastern face of Sutro Tower, atop some Sunwing-infested ruins. Using Aloy’s handy Focus will show a purple pulsating beacon that will help track the signal for some guidance.

How to Complete the Vista Point Tower

When players arrive at the tower, use Aloy’s Focus to scan the beacon, revealing a blurry image on the Focus when in proximity. This will activate the quest and give players a yellow search area on the map.

Aloy will comment that this particular photo was taken from very high up. To find where the picture was taken, call a Sunwing using the d-pad - or override one of the two roosting nearby- and fly to the peak of Sutro Tower.

At the top, land on the corrugated metal perch which sits on the westernmost point of the tower; players should see a Sunwing icon appear to guide them and be given the R2 prompt to land.

Dismount the Sunwing and look across the gap which separates the two sides of the tower; players will see a yellow ladder held up by a red clamp that they can destroy with a fully drawn arrow.

With the ladder down, jump across the gap and onto it before dropping down onto the platform below. From here, players can see two rusted yellow beams on the eastern facing pillars being held up by blue clamps that Aloy can pull down with the Ropecaster.

Once both beams are down, get ready for more of Forbidden West's excellent climbing and turn around to scale the western pillar back up to the Sunwing perch. At the top once again, jump across to the ladder for a second time and climb down, this time dropping onto one of the beams Aloy pulled down. Hop across the gap between the two and climb the southernmost pillar.

At the top, see a small yellow ledge upon which Aloy can perch and activate her Focus. After lining up the San Francisco skyline with the degraded image on her Focus, Vista Point: Isle of Spires will be complete.

Finding this will earn players XP to unlock some new skills, as well as some flavor text about Elisabet Sobeck’s company and the ‘Clawback’ decade, which features heavily in the lore of Horizon Forbidden West.

Horizon Forbidden West is available on PS4 and PS5.
