Much like its predecessor, the world of Horizon Forbidden West is full of artifacts and other little trinkets from a fallen civilization. The main ones are now referred to as ornaments though, and obtaining all but one of them will require players to traverse ancient structures known as Relic Ruins. There are eight of these ruins in total, the first of which can be found in The Daunt region between Chainscrape and Barren Light.

Players can choose to investigate this dilapidated building whenever they like, though most will probably stumble upon it while searching for Erend and the rest of the Vanguard near the beginning of Horizon Forbidden West's main story. The building itself is fairly large and so is pretty difficult to miss, particularly as the main quest path takes players right past it.

Where to Find the Passcode for The Daunt Relic Ruins

Players will be able to gain access to the ruin via a collapsed wall to the north of the building and should find a moveable crate nearby. Dragging this crate into the center of the first room will enable them to reach the second floor, where they'll find a locked door that requires both a key and a four-digit passcode. Unfortunately, both of these items are found deeper within the ruins, which can only be accessed via the nearby wooden balcony.

After dropping down into the second room, players will need to use their Focus to scan the purple datapoint on the ground and get the passcode, and should then use the Pullcaster grappling hook to open the vent shaft coming out of the wall up above them. On the upper section of the opposite side of the room is a crate, which can also be pulled down with the Pullcaster and then used to gain access to the vent via the metal hook to its right.

Where to Find the Key for The Daunt Relic Ruins

Upon entering the next room, players should immediately turn around and use the Pullcaster to destroy the wall connecting the second and third rooms. They'll then need to head down into the underground tunnel and use the Pullcaster to create another hole in the ground by latching onto the blue hook on the ceiling and pulling. From here, it's a simple matter of grabbing the crate from the previous room, pushing it down the newly created hole, and then using it to climb the wall with the yellow markings.

After climbing to the very top, players will find themselves on a platform with an Ancient Supply Box. Just to the left of this is another balcony, on which players will find the Hotel Room Key. They can then return to the locked door in the first room, use the key with the console to the left of the door, and then input the passcode. Players can check the email they scanned earlier in the Datapoints section of their notebook to find it, but for those who lack the patience, the passcode is 1705.

How to Open the Locked Door in The Daunt Relic Ruins

With the door now unlocked, players can head through and pick up the special St. Patrick's Day-themed ornament to complete the Relic Ruins. Unfortunately, those collecting the ornament on their first pass-through of the region won't actually be able to do anything with it just yet. They will get 5,000 experience points though, which can be very useful during the early stages of the game.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now on PS4 and PS5.
