Signal Lenses are one of several collectible sets in Horizon Forbidden West. Unlike all of the others though, Signal Lenses are only found in the game's opening area, The Daunt. Each one is at the top of a derelict signal tower and can be reached in a number of different ways. There are six of them in total, with players able to trade them in for valuables after completing the associated errand.

To collect all of the Signal Lenses in Horizon Forbidden West, players will need to master the art of climbing. Either that, or wait until the point in the main story when they unlock the special mountable machine, which can make collecting the lenses much quicker and easier than it would otherwise be. That said, getting them the intended way isn't really all that taxing either, so it's really up to player preference.

Lens of Dawn

The tower containing the Lens of Dawn can be found in the northeastern part of The Daunt, not too far from the old mine that players visit as part of the Deep Trouble side quest. Players will simply need to climb to the top of the tower and then collect the lens from the dish by pressing the Triangle button. Those having trouble climbing can tap R3 whenever they like to activate Aloy's Focus, which will highlight all of the points that she's able to hold onto.

Lens of Morning

Players can find the signal tower that houses the Lens of Morning to the north of Chainscrape. Climbing the cliff here will reveal a derelict brick structure, which players should continue to climb. They'll then need to look for a grapple point just above them, and should use the Pullcaster in order to continue with their ascent. Once at the top of the tower, it's again a simple matter of grabbing the lens with the Triangle button.

Lens of Midday

The Lens of Midday is just to the east of Chainscrape, not too far from the bridge that leads into the settlement. Players should look for a ladder nearby, which they're going to need to climb. After that, there'll be a couple of grapple points that players can latch onto using the Pullcaster. From there, they'll just need to make their way up to the top of the tower and the wooden dish that houses the lens.

Lens of Afternoon

The signal tower that contains the Lens of Afternoon is to the southwest of Chainscrape, near the quest marker for The Twilight Path. As usual, players will need to climb their way up, though, this time, upon making it to the top, they'll find that the dish has been destroyed by a downed Storm Bird. As a result, they'll need to search through the pile of rubble in order to find the lens. For those having trouble finding it, activating Aloy's Focus with a click of the R3 button will mark the lens and the scrap pile containing it with a purple marker.

Lens of Twilight

The Lens of Twilight can be found to the east of Barren Light, up in the mountains near the edge of the map. Players will need to climb up to reach the tower, using the Pullcaster to latch onto a grapple point and then destroy a wall. Once the obstruction has been cleared, players will be able to continue their ascent and will find the signal lens at the top of the tower as expected.

Lens of Evening

Players will find the Lens of Evening as part of the Signals of the Sun errand, which can be initiated by speaking to a Carja guard to the northeast of Barren Light. He'll mention that somebody has fallen off the nearby cliff and that a woman is still up there. Following the quest marker will eventually lead players to said woman, who will ask Aloy to go and fetch the lens from the nearby tower. Aside from having to pull down a wall or two with the Pullcaster, doing so is fairly straightforward, so players shouldn't have too much trouble fulfilling the woman's request.

What are Signal Lenses Used For in Horizon Forbidden West?

During the Signals of the Sun errand, players will be introduced to Raynah, a young woman whose father helped to design the signal towers in which the lenses are used. She'll ask Aloy to help gather all of the Signal Lenses that are scattered throughout The Daunt and will provide rewards for each one that she finds. Turning in all six will see players rewarded with 90 Metal Shards, a Bronze Ingot, and two Greenshine Slivers. Players can give Reynah lenses the first time they meet her if they'd like, or, alternatively, they'll be able to find her near the campfire in Barren Light a little later on.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now on PS4 and PS5.
