There are 43 different types of machines in Horizon Forbidden West, 21 of which are returning from the previous game. One machine that series fans will instantly recognize is the majestic Tallneck; a non-aggressive behemoth that serves as a collectible of sorts in both of Aloy's epic adventures. There are six of them scattered throughout the Forbidden West, the first of which can be found in the Cinnabar Sands area of No Man's Land.

By climbing to the top of a Tallneck, players are able to override them and gain valuable information about the surrounding area. Unlike the previous game though, getting on top of a Tallneck in Horizon Forbidden West is no simple task, with players now needing to solve puzzles in order to do so. In the case of Cinnabar Sands, they'll need to move an old satellite dish, which means finding an Energy Cell in order to restore power

Where to Find an Energy Cell

After clearing away all of the nearby enemies, players should climb the two ladders near the base of the old satellite dish. They'll then need to jump across to the ladder behind the inactive console and scan the purple Datapoint upon reaching the top. Next to this Datapoint is a ladder, which players should climb down after they have lowered it by pressing Triangle.

Rather than dropping down to ground level, however, players should jump across to the yellow bars to their right and then follow these around to a partially destroyed platform. Here, they'll see an unusual device, inside of which is a fully-charged Energy Cell that can be used to power the dish. Players should remove it by holding the Triangle button and then place it into a similar device that can be found directly beneath the dish.

How to Move the Dish

With power now restored, players can return to the console they passed earlier on and hit the Triangle button to activate it. This will cause the dish to start rotating, but, due to some mechanical issues, there's still a bit of work to be done. To fix the problem, players should jump to the platform on their left and then climb across the yellow fixtures and pipes to reach the area with the Datapoint they scanned earlier.

From here, it's a simple case of shooting the two glowing components with Aloy's bow in order to complete the dish realignment process and then climbing the newly accessible ladder to get on top of it. Players should then be able to glide over to the Tallneck by jumping off the dish and climb up its yellow limb-like components to reach the very top.

To override the Tallneck, players will need to approach the center of its head and press the Triangle button once. After the process has been completed, they can press Triangle again to repel back down to the ground. New locations will now be available on their map and a large section of the mist that had previously covered it will also disappear.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now on PS4 and PS5.
