Horizon Forbidden West gives players several big choices to make throughout the main story, such as whether or not to side with Drakka or Yarra in the Gate of the Vanquished side quest or kill or spare Regalla in The Wings of the Ten. The Burning Shores expansion also features a few notable choices, one of which comes at the very end of the main story.

Come the conclusion of His Final Act, Seyka will confess her love for Aloy, at which point, players will be asked to respond. As with the DLC expansion's A Friend in the Dark side quest, they'll need to decide whether to go with their head, their heart, or their fist. Each option results in a slightly different ending, so players should think carefully before they act.

What Happens if You Choose Yes, I Do? (Heart)

If Horizon Forbidden West players choose the "Yes, I do" option, Aloy and Seyka will share a passionate kiss, after which comes one of the very rare instances in which players get to see Aloy smile. The moment is a fleeting one, however, as she goes on to explain that she has a long road ahead of her. Aloy then walks off, leaving Seyka to stare out longingly toward the ocean.

What Happens if You Choose I'm Not Ready For This? (Head)

The "I'm not ready for this" option sees Aloy explaining that growing up as an outcast made it difficult for her to connect with people, and that although things are getting better in this regard, she just isn't ready to commit to a real relationship right now. The pair share a short embrace and then Aloy walks away leaving Seyka to reflect on the situation.

What Happens if You Choose This is Too Much for Me? (Fist)

Choosing "This is too much for me" will lead to Aloy going on a rant about the pressures of being Earth's savior, explaining that she just doesn't have the mental capacity to deal with anything else right now. Though clearly disappointed, Seyka seems to understand Aloy's predicament, and the two women hug before Aloy walks away.

Is Aloy Gay?

Given that all three options seem to confirm that Aloy does indeed have romantic feelings for Seyka (albeit, to varying degrees), it seems safe to assume that Aloy is either gay or bisexual. This is backed up by the fact that as Aloy makes her way toward the rendezvous with Seyka, she talks to herself about how nervous she is and how she's not ready to say goodbye to Seyka just yet.

Of course, these are also sentiments that one might have when faced with the prospect of saying goodbye to a close friend, but when combined with the choice itself and the resulting dialogue, it's pretty clear that Aloy has romantic feelings for Seyka, bringing an end to years of speculation as to whether or not the character is queer. Hopefully, this is something that the developers can further explore in the next Horizon game.

Horizon Forbidden West is available now on PS4 and PS5.
