With Horizon Forbidden West on its way, and the fanbase has exploded with new fan-made projects depicting love for the world of Horizon and its main character, Aloy. Horizon Forbidden West is one of the biggest games confirmed to come to PlayStation this year, with plenty of exciting new attributes that were previewed in a Forbidden West story trailer released earlier this month.

Another title that has PlayStation fans excited is God of War Ragnarok, the sequel to the 2018 reboot of the franchise that sees protagonist Kratos battle the Norse gods alongside his son Atreus. A PC port of God of War was recently released to plenty of fanfare, adding the ability to customize the game’s accessibility options in new creative ways and unleashing a handful of mods that give players more fun to fool around with.

Fans may wonder what it would look like if Horizon and God of War crossed over. In a post on Reddit’s r/GodofWar, one fan brought that idea to life, by depicting the protagonist of Horizon Forbidden West, Aloy, as the new God of War.

User TurfMerkin created a silhouetted render of Aloy, bloodied and battle-hardened, holding Kratos’ Leviathan Axe, while wearing an outfit similar to the one worn by the Ghost of Sparta in the 2018 game. Currently, the post sits with a 93% upvote, with over 150+ comments praising the user’s depiction of the character, and how a great heroine like Aloy could fit into the larger God of War canon.

With the outfit system in Forbidden West receiving a massive expansion from the previous game, it is not out of the realm of possibility that a Kratos-inspired garb for Aloy could appear in the sequel. It wouldn’t be the first time God of War crossed over another PlayStation game, as Jin Sakai from Sucker Punch’s Ghost of Tsushima is able to receive Kratos-inspired armor in his game.

While Horizon Forbidden West continues to build hype toward its release, especially with new characters played by an all-star voice cast, it’s exciting to look at fan art such as this with much excitement. Plus, it will be fun to see the artist swap positions for the characters, and maybe depict Kratos battling post-apocalyptic machines next time.

Horizon Forbidden West launches on February 18 on PS4 and PS5.
