The mother of Kyouko Hori, Yuriko, is a beautiful young woman who is usually busy with her work. Because of that, Hori often takes care of her brother, Souto. Kyosuke, Yuriko’s husband, noted that she looked very much like their daughter while she was in high school.

As a mother of two, Yuriko is calm, gentle, and takes her work seriously. Although she could be lazy in the kitchen, leaving Hori to do most of the cooking, Yuriko is very protective of her daughter and has a very amicable relationship with her.

11 Souta Hori

Hori’s little brother, Souta, serves as the catalyst that allows Miyamura to meet Hori’s other side. At the beginning of the Horimiya anime series, Miyamura finds Souta startled by a dog, which prompts him to deliver the young boy home. During their short meeting, the duo bonded, and Souta has respected Miyamura ever since, seeing him as akin to an elder brother.

Despite his age, Souta is obedient and perceptive. He easily notices Miyamura and Hori’s feelings for each other before the duo figure out their own emotions.

As a member of the student council at Katagiri Senior High School, Remi Ayasaki is quite the character. She is the girlfriend of Kakeru Sengoku, whom she began dating in her freshman year. And the duo’s relationship has continued ever since.

Remi is close friends with Hori, with whom she regularly talks about her boyfriend. As a major character in the series, Remi tends to talk about her relationship with her boyfriend with Hori, and Hori does the same. Unlike most girls, Remi loves insects and has a straightforward personality.

9 Kakeru Sengoku

The president of the Katagiri Senior High School student council and Remi Ayasaki’s boyfriend, Kakeru Sengoku, is a childhood friend of Hori. In childhood, Kakeru and Hori used to be together a lot. However, due to Kakeru’s cowardice, he often tried to avoid Hori, who pushed him around a lot.

When choosing High schools, Kakeru wanted to choose a different school from Hori, but that would not be the case. Despite being the student council president, Kakeru tends to keep to himself and is shy. He hates insects and often excels in his grades.

8 Akane Yanagi

The December-born Akane Yanagi is a mild-tempered boy who interacts well with his friends. Although Yanagi could be considered reserved, he likes to interact with his friends and get closer to them. When interacting with his crush, Yuki Yoshikawa, Yanagi is often calm and collected.

At the beginning of the series, Yanagi confessed his feelings to Yuki; however, he was rejected as Yuki felt he was too good for her. Due to his looks, Yanagi is often seen as a "high-level ingredient" that looks so much better than his peers.

Honoka is first seen in the series while stalking Miyamura. This leads many people to misconstrue that Honoka has a crush on Miyamura. However, this does not seem to be the case, as Honoka has feelings for Hori.

While being an introvert, Honoka is also not good at communicating with men, as she gets scared of them. She often gets jealous of Miyamura, as he spends so much time with Hori and tends to get in between them. However, as time goes on, Honoka gets comfortable with Miyamura and sees him as a brotherly figure.

6 Syu Iura

As a friend of Miyamura, Syu also attends Katagiri Senior High School. He is a loud and outgoing person, and this personality causes Honoka to be afraid of him. Syu's loud nature is one of his defining characteristics, as he usually rhetorically asks his friends, "If you take away my energeticness, what would be left?"

Syu often complains and wonders if he is destined to never have a girlfriend. However, as Syu never has his sights set on any girl, he does not make headway in relationships.

5 Sakura Kouno

As the vice president of Katagiri Senior High School, Sakura is a well-rounded and responsible person. Sakura is in the same class as Remi and is good friends with her. Sakura is very hardworking, as she does all she can to make sure the Student Council does what it is supposed to do on time.

One of Sakura’s defining characteristics is her insecurities about herself. She struggles with her self-worth and lacks confidence in herself. However, during the series, Sakura overcomes her insecurities and makes new friends.

4 Tooru Ishikawa

At the beginning of the Horimiya anime series, Tooru Ishikawa has an evident crush on Kyouko Hori. As Hori often spends time with Miyamura, Tooru tends to get jealous of Miyamura, which leads to a fight.

After the fight, Tooru apologized for losing his temper, and the duo have been close friends ever since. As Hori and Miyamura began to spend time together, Tooru and Yuki also began to spend more time together, and the duo eventually developed romantic feelings for each other. However, they are not officially dating.

3 Yuki Yoshikawa

As Kyouko Hori’s best friend, Yuki Yoshikawa is an energetic person who creates fun moments for those around her. At the beginning of the Horimiya anime series, Yuki had a crush on Miyamura, whom she believed to be Konoha, Hori’s cousin. However, after finding out Konoha was Miyamura and he and Kyouko had feelings for each other, she gave up on him.

As the series progresses, Yuki begins to develop feelings for Tooru, especially since they hang out more as Hori, her best friend, hangs out more with Miyamura.

2 Izumi Miyamura

The male protagonist of the Horimiya anime series, Izumi Miyamura, is seen as an antisocial nerd in school. When Hori discovers Miyamura’s carefree and laid-back attitude outside school, she is surprised but quickly becomes friends with him. As the duo interacts more and more, they develop feelings for each other and eventually start dating.

After Miyamura starts dating Hori, he takes more care of his appearance, as he does not want Hori to be called out for dating him. This leads to Miyamura’s development as a person as he begins to trust and interact with more people.

Hori, the female lead of the Horimiya anime series, is an outgoing and popular girl among her classmates. At the beginning of the series, Hori’s brother, Souta, is brought home by Miyamura. Then she discovers Miyamura’s other personality, and he discovers hers.

From then on, both parties agree to keep their private lives secret from those at school and begin to spend more time together. Hori also gets jealous when Miyamura is seen interacting with other girls. However, as Hori and Miyamura get closer, Hori sees Miyamura as the perfect friend that she can confide in at any time.
