HoYoverse revealed the character kit for Yukong, one of the new Honkai: Star Rail characters arriving in the second phase of the version 1.1 update. Honkai: Star Rail players will be able to summon Yukong to their party alongside Luocha, Qingque, and Pela from a new Event Warp.

Honkai: Star Rail is HoYoverse's latest project following the worldwide success of Genshin Impact. Like Genshin Impact, HoYoverse will regularly update Honkai: Star Rail with new events, features, areas, and playable characters over time. The game's first post-launch update, version 1.1, released on June 7 with the first phase highlighting playable character Silver Wolf and her backstory. The first phase of Honkai: Star Rail version 1.1 was well-received by the community despite a bug affecting one of the game's ongoing events and its rewards. HoYoverse issued compensation in the form of Stellar Jades to players affected by the bug, and version 1.1's second phase will soon launch on June 28.

HoYoverse published a new HoYoLab blog post, revealing the official character kit for Yukong featuring her Ultimate, Technique, and Talent abilities. Yukong is a four-star Imaginary-type character that specializes in aiding allies with attack and critical chance buffs. She deals Imaginary damage to single targets with her basic attack, Arrowslinger. The Seven Layers, One Arrow Talent allows Yukong's basic attack to deal additional damage while reducing an enemy's Toughness stat. Moreover, Yukong's Emboldening Salvo skill grants two stacks of Roaring Bowstrings, which increases overall attack stats for all allies in battle.

Honkai Star Rail 1.1 Helpful New Tools

While traversing the world of Honkai: Star Rail, Yukong may use her Chasing the Wind Technique to increase sprint speed for 20 seconds. If Yukong enters battle within the 20-second duration, she will gain two stacks of Roaring Bowstrings at the start of her turn. Yukong's Ultimate, Diving Kestrel, will deal major Imaginary damage to a single target while increasing critical rates and damage for allies while Roaring Bowstrings is active.

Yukong appears to be a reliable character that will assist other DPS characters with attack buffs. She's capable of dealing substantial damage to single targets, making her a potential favorite for boss encounters. Additionally, her Trace abilities allow her to resist debuffs and regain more energy, allowing her to re-enable Roaring Bowstrings more quickly in lengthy boss fights. Five-star healing character Luocha may be a boon for Yukong since he may provide support and help her fend off enemy attacks.

Yukong's Event Warp will be available from June 28 to July 18, giving players roughly three weeks to summon the new character. Honkai: Star Rail version 1.2 is expected to launch in mid-July, and HoYoverse will likely reveal more details in a special program live stream.

Honkai: Star Rail is available now for Android, iOS, and PC. A PlayStation 5 version launches in Q4 2023.
