A new leak from Honkai: Star Rail has given players their first look at the next weekly boss set to join the game, expected to debut in Version 1.2. The first months of Honkai: Star Rail's life have given players a variety of challenges and activities to do within the sci-fi RPG from HoYoverse. The game has already featured multiple limited-time events with a variety of rewards, as well as permanent game modes like the Simulated Universe and Forgotten Hall. A variety of bosses also inhabit the RPG's worlds, featuring unique mechanics and strategies.
Among Honkai: Star Rail's many repeatable challenges like Calyxes and Stagnant Shadows, the "Echo of War" bosses sit at the peak of the game's enemies. Star Rail currently features two Echo of War challenges with limited opportunities to claim rewards each week, featuring the Doomsday Beast in Herta Space Station and Cocolia, Mother of Deception on Jarilo-IV. The game's second fully explorable world, the Xianzhou Luofu, currently does not feature a weekly boss. However, a new leak suggests the world will be getting its own Echo of War in a coming update.
A recent video shared by Honkai: Star Rail leaker CynoUlts shows off the Xianzhou Luofu's new weekly boss, while also demoing upcoming character Kafka. The boss features a towering figure, most of her body obscured by the clouds below, using a hand fan to attack. The weekly boss will occasionally summon lotus-shaped mobs which grant allies a buff when they are destroyed. The video also shows off the boss's Ultimate attack, creating a large explosion and dealing Quantum damage to all party members.
While the video does not make the origins of the weekly boss clear, details about the fight also give several tips players can keep in mind for the new boss. The new weekly boss will sport three elemental weaknesses for players looking to build teams specifically for the fight, being susceptible to Electric, Wind, and Imaginary attacks. The boss also features three phases with the Ultimate guaranteed to hit after players deplete their first health bar. Though no confirmation was given, Honkai: Star Rail's new weekly boss is expected to debut with Version 1.2.
Early reveals about Honkai: Star Rail's newest weekly boss come as HoYoverse will ramp up its efforts to curb the flow of leaks from the game. The developer released an official statement earlier this week, claiming its intent to take heavier action against Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail leakers. Both of the developer's flagship titles have seen a plethora of future content revealed, with new characters and details about upcoming locations teased. While the developer takes action against leakers, players will have a new challenge to look forward to in Honkai: Star Rail's next update.
Honkai: Star Rail is available now for PC and mobile devices with a PS5 version releasing in Q4 2023.
