A recent Honkai: Star Rail leak has revealed a new break damage type that will be exclusive to Harmony Trailblazer. Break damage in Honkai: Star Rail takes effect upon breaking the enemy's toughness meter. It scales with character level and break effect, an independent stat that initiates various debuffs when the enemy is in a broken state. Briefly, the higher the break effect stat characters have, the more break damage they will dish out.

The thing about Honkai: Star Rail's break effect is that it's a valuable source of damage, which means characters with this stat can take out formidable bosses more easily. However, it's imperative to deplete their toughness meter to utilize the break effect. Depending on the character type, this stat applies various debuffs that reduce enemies' defensive capabilities. For instance, physical characters inflict a bleed effect that deals damage over time, while ice units immobilize enemies by freezing them.
