A new leak from Honkai: Star Rail is teasing a major update to the game's Trace system, adding a helpful quality-of-life feature with leveling recommendations. The newest sci-fi RPG from HoYoverse features plenty of ways for players to power up their characters between its gacha system and gameplay. Light Cones and Relics offer major stat boosts for characters, often boasting unique effects catered towards individual members of Star Rail's roster. Now, the game's most character-specific form of powerup is getting a major upgrade with the next version.

Traces serve as one of the most powerful ways for Honkai: Star Rail players to upgrade their characters, boosting a character's stats and abilities. Traces allow players to level specific aspects of a character's kit, like their Skill and Ultimate, with several unique benefits also available for players to unlock. Honkai: Star Rail Leak Teases Major Trace Update

A recent post shared to the Honkai: Star Rail leaks subreddit via leaker GuraLeak teases a major new update to Honkai: Star Rail's Trace system for Version 2.2. The new update will offer catered Trace recommendations for each of Honkai: Star Rail's characters, guiding players on which Traces to prioritize. The recommendations are expected to use data collected from other players' accounts as its main source, similar to previous systems in Star Rail and Genshin Impact. Honkai: Star Rail's Version 2.2 update is expected to launch on May 7.

The addition of a recommendation system for Traces comes as one of many changes Star Rail has rolled out to benefit new players. Alongside the previously mentioned Relic recommendations, Honkai: Star Rail also debuted a "quick challenge" feature, allowing players to battle in-game bosses before reaching their story quest. Star Rail also recently introduced the "Claim All" function for Assignments, granting the ability to accept all of the player's Assignment rewards at once. Other smaller changes have introduced helpful upgrades to streamline Relic management and upgrades.

Honkai: Star Rail's teased quality-of-life change comes as the popular RPG recently debuted its newest update. Version 2.1 launched earlier this week and brought with it the introduction of one of Honkai: Star Rail's most highly-anticipated characters in Acheron. The update also kicks off the celebrations for Honkai: Star Rail's first anniversary, with players receiving up to 20 Star Rail Special Passes and 1,600 Stellar Jades as free rewards.
