New leaks from Honkai: Star Rail are teasing the gameplay for upcoming character Jiaoqiu, expected to release during the game's Penacony cycle. With the launch of the massively popular HoYoverse RPG's Version 2.0 just over a month away, the developer is giving players plenty of reasons to be excited about the new world. HoYoverse has already confirmed three new characters releasing alongside Penacony, with several future roster additions teased during Version 1.6's Special Program. Now, new leaks are hinting at a brand-new member of Star Rail's cast.

While HoYoverse has only officially confirmed the release of Honkai: Star Rail's Version 2.0 characters, recent leaks have seen a plethora of future characters teased. Characters like Boothill and Robin have seen their full gameplay kits leaked ahead of time, giving a glimpse into Boothill's unique dueling mechanic and Robin's supportive playstyle. Others like Firefly, Aventurine, and Duke Inferno have seen images of their in-game models surface ahead of their official reveal within Star Rail. Now, Jiaoqiu has become the next character to see their kit revealed early.

A new Honkai: Star Rail leak is teasing the gameplay for upcoming character Boothill, expected to be released later in the Penacony cycle.

A new leak shared by prominent Honkai: Star Rail leaker Dimbreath has revealed details about the gameplay for rumored character Jiaoqiu. The leaked kit suggests Jiaoqiu will debut as a Fire character within Honkai: Star Rail, likely in the Nihility Path with a kit focused around manipulating debuffs. Both Jiaoqiu's Basic ATK and Skill apply a stacking DEF reduction debuff to the attacked enemy, with their Skill also giving the debuff to adjacent enemies. Jiaoqiu's Ultimate applies the same DEF reduction debuff to all enemies to equal the enemy with the highest stacks, while also providing a healing aura for allies and applying a DoT to enemies.

As some players have pointed out, Jiaoqiu's proposed kit follows a trend with many of Penacony's leaked character abilities. Penacony appears to feature a heavy focus around debuffs within its new characters, with several featuring abilities that apply debuffs to enemies. Weakness Break in Honkai: Star Rail is also expected to play a bigger role, with Version 1.6 characters Ruan Mei and Xueyi heavily playing around the mechanic. The leak did not confirm a release date for Jiaoqiu's addition to Honkai: Star Rail's roster.

Penacony's launch in Version 2.0 is set to bring a plethora of new content to Honkai: Star Rail, based on recent leaks. Alongside its lineup of characters, both new gameplay mechanics and new types of puzzles within Honkai: Star Rail have been leaked from the next world's debut. Version 2.0 is also expected to welcome several smaller additions to Star Rail, including multiple new bosses to challenge and new Relic sets for players to acquire. Jiaoqiu's addition to Honkai: Star Rail will bring another unique party member for players to try out within the massive RPG.
