Honkai: Star Rail is teasing another upcoming member of its playable cast set to join the game's roster during Version 1.2, the highly-anticipated Kafka. As the newest game from HoYoverse approaches the end of its launch patch, the developer is already getting fans excited about the future of the sci-fi RPG. HoYoverse officially announced the Version 1.1 Special Program broadcast earlier this week and has already teased one of the cast members set to arrive in Version 1.2. Now, a fan-favorite character from the game's opening story will be added to the playable lineup.

Kafka's prominent role within Honkai: Star Rail's early story has already garnered a significant fanbase of players waiting for her release. Kafka serves as a de facto leader for the Stellaron Hunters shown within the story so far, acting under the instruction of their true leader Elio. Kafka's actions within the prologue bring the Trailblazer to life by instilling them with the Stellaron and Kafka also serves as a primary antagonist for the Xianzhou Luofu story. Now, players will soon be able to add Kafka to their teams.

HoYoverse officially revealed Kafka late Tuesday night through the official Honkai: Star Rail Twitter account, sharing her splash art and a brief lore description. Much like her counterpart in Blade, not much is known about Kafka aside from her position as one of the most trusted members by the Stellaron Hunter's commander, Elio. Kafka is revealed to be a Lightning element character in the Nihility Path, suggesting Kafka will play a supportive debuffer role in her teams. Kafka is currently expected to release in Version 1.2, believed to be launching in mid-July.

Kafka's addition to Honkai: Star Rail will come alongside another of her fellow Stellaron Hunter companions with one more releasing in the preceding patch. Version 1.1 is heavily rumored to introduce the first playable member of the Stellaron Hunters with Silver Wolf expected to feature on the gacha banner. HoYoverse also revealed fellow Stellaron Hunter Blade would become a playable character during the Version 1.2 update alongside Kafka. Kafka's splash art notably features the other members of the Stellaron Hunters with both Silver Wolf and Blade visible under the umbrellas.

With the Special Program livestream for HoYoverse's first post-launch update just a few days away, the developer looks to have plenty in store for Honkai: Star Rail fans. Star Rail is heavily rumored to be adding a highly-requested chat system during the game's first update. The game has also seen several future characters leaked, including four-star character Yukong who is believed to be joining the game in Version 1.1. With new characters and new features on the way, HoYoverse looks to keep the momentum from Honkai: Star Rail's launch going.
