Honkai: Star Rail Rarely Affectionate quest is Clara’s Companion Mission where she asks Trailblazers for help. It is divided into two parts in which players must follow and help Clara figure out the reason behind Pascal's weird behavior. Both quests take place in Robot Settlement and reward players with 60 Stellar Jades.

During the end of the Rarely Affectionate Part 2 quest, Trailblazers will have to decide whether to convince Clara or Svarog to take up the other’s plan and decide on Pascal’s fate in Honkai: Star Rail. Here's the outcome of whether players choose to reset Pascal or not in Honkai: Star Rail.

At the end of the Rarely Affectionate Part 2 quest in Honkai: Star Rail, Trailblazers will have to choose to either reset Pascal or not. The two options will be presented by Clara and Svarog's different points of view on Pascal's fate. Svarog will suggest shutting off Pascal while Clara will plead with players to keep the semi-broken machine functioning.

Choosing to reset Pascal or not does not affect Clara's choice to be a visitor to the Express.

Choosing To Reset Pascal (Svarog’s Choice)

Choosing to reset Pascal will format and integrate Pascal into the base network and will trigger the Wish You Were Here quest. Completing this quest will give Trailblazers the For a Breath I Tarry achievement in Honkai: Star Rail.

Choosing Not To Reset Pascal (Clara’s Choice)

If players choose not to reset Pascal, they will get the No One Is Answering quest in Honkai: Star Rail. The quest will reward Trailblazers with The Lifecycle of Software Objects achievement.

The Rarely Affectionate quest is a two-part Companion Mission that rewards Trailblazers with the Clara and the Sun achievement in Honkai: Star Rail.

Rarely Affectionate (Part 1)

In the first part of the Rarely Affectionate Honkai: Star Rail quest, Clara will ask Trailblazers for help investigating an unusual theft of the Vagrants' mechanical parts. To catch the Culprit players need to:

  • Question the witness of the theft cases.
  • Search for clues regarding the culprit.
  • Find the source of the odd sounds.

Afterward, players will learn that the robot thief stole the parts to repair itself, but it failed, so Clara decides to fix it herself. To help Clara fix the malfunctioning robot:

  • Find Toby at the gates of the base.
  • Follow Toby to find the right Robot Shell for the Gear-Stealing Robot.
  • Report back to Clara.

Afterward, Clara will transfer the robot’s core into the new Robot Shell and will ask Svarog to help her choose a name for it.

Rarely Affectionate (Part 2)

After completing the required Trailblaze Mission, Clara will send a text message asking Trailblazers to check on the little robot. Players will learn when they arrive at Robot Settlement that Pascal has run off to steal new parts because the Robot Shell is incompatible with the new hardware. To help Pascal function:

  • Follow Pascal who ran away to Rivet Town.
  • Investigate the Tempering Workshop.

Rarely Affectionate (Part 2) won’t be triggered until players reach Trailblaze Level 34 and complete Adventure Mission Sinners Misled, Credence Falsified .

Although Clara suspects that Pascal has sentiment, players insist that she must discuss the matter with Svarog. In the aftermath of returning to the base and consulting Svarog, players must decide between resetting Pascal or not.
