Boothill is a Physical Hunt unit in Honkai: Star Rail. As a character who follows the Hunt Path, Boothill mostly gets his DMG from dealing single-target DMG. That means Boothill's performance is enhanced when he’s up against mini-bosses or bosses in Honkai: Star Rail.
Additionally, unlike traditional Hunt units, Boothill doesn’t get his DMG from scaling with offensive stats like ATK, Physical DMG, and Crit. Instead, he greatly scales with Break Effect and relies solely on this stat to erase his targets from the galaxy. Here's a quick overview of Boothill build in HSR.
Honkai: Star Rail - Best F2P Teams to Build

Best Boothill Relics In Honkai: Star Rail
As a Hunt character that depends on their Break Effect to deal DMG, the best Relics for Boothill are the ones that increase that stat in particular. Building Boothill with 4pc of Thief of Shooting Meteor and Talia: Kingdom of Banditry grants Boothill a 68% Break Effect from the two sets alone.
You can also combine 2pc of Thief of Shooting Meteor with 2pc Messenger Traversing Hackerspace to make Boothill much faster. Surprisingly, those two sets combined match the 4pc Thief of Shooting Meteor, proving how versatile Boothill is. Although he’s losing 16 Break Effect, the SPD he gets is enough to make it up and there’s no real loss in DMG there.
All in all, Boothill doesn't need Crit stat. He gets some Crits through his passive, and players can maximize it by ensuring Boothill has 300% Break Effect (buffs from other characters included). Boosting Boothill's Crit is not as useful as enhancing Break Effect and SPD, so these two stats should take precedence over anything else.
When it comes to SPD for Boothill in Honkai: Star Rail, players should aim for, at the very least, 134 so that he can move twice in the first cycle. Ideally, the Galaxy Ranger should have 160/172/178/182 SPD (after buff) so that he can have 4 turns in 2 cycles/6 turns in 3 cycles/8 turns in 4 cycles/10 turns in 5 cycles.
Best Boothill Light Cones In Honkai: Star Rail
The best Light Cone for Boothill in Honkai: Star Rail is Sailing Towards a Second Life. It grants him SPD, Break Effect, and DEF penetration. Unsurprisingly, his Signature Light Cone is his BiS because it gives him everything he needs, and more. After that, there’s no Light Cone that really works on him like his BiS. All other Light Cones fall DMG-wise when compared to his Signature one.
The second-best 5-star Light Cone for Boothill is In the Night, with the 4-star River Flows in Spring following very closely at S5. What makes River Flows in Spring better than the others is having SPD in its passive, since that’s the only thing Boothill wants other than Break Effect, and that’s near impossible to find in Hunt Light Cones.
Finally, if you haven’t got your hands on any of his best Light Cones, go for S5 Adversarial. The 3-star F2P Light Cone also increases his SPD, which is a stat he loves.
