Carve the Moon, Weave the Clouds is generally an excellent Light Cone for Harmony characters in Honkai: Star Rail. However, as the weapon grants an ATK boost in one of the three random buffs, players shouldn’t use this Light Cone if Ruan Mei is supporting units that scale with other stats, such as HP. Additionally, since the buff given is random, Trailblazers shouldn’t rely on the Light Cone to give the 6% Energy Regeneration effect, which is the stat Ruan Mei needs most.

Ruan Mei doesn’t only enhance the Break Effect in her team, but she also passively increases her teammates’ SPD. When an enemy’s weakness is broken, they take 10% extra damage, so the delayed action Ruan Mei provides indirectly increases the team’s damage. With Dance! Dance! Dance! Players can play more often, further abusing the 10% damage increase on an enemy with a weakness break.

When bringing Ruan Mei into the team, players would want to aim for 100% Ultimate uptime, which is why But the Battle Isn’t Over is great, as it offers a 10% Energy Regeneration Rate on its stat. The next unit that plays after Ruan Mei also gains a 30% DMG boost, so proper SPD tuning can lead to higher damage from the DPS.

There aren’t many Harmony Light Cones in Honkai: Star Rail that grant the Break Effect stat in version 1.6, with only Ruan Mei’s signature weapon and Memories of the Past. Memories of the Past boosts Ruan Mei’s Break Effect and also regenerates her Energy upon attacking. She only deals damage on Basic Attack, but considering her Skill and Ultimate last for three and two turns respectively, players will find themselves using Ruan Mei’s Basic Attack occasionally.
