Firefly, one of the most anticipated units in Honkai: Star Rail, stands out as a new Fire unit on the path of Destruction, specializing in AoE DPS. Her ability to deplete enemy Toughness while applying Fire Weakness, along with her unique SAM appearance and animation in battle, and her powerful Super Breaks, make her a fan favorite. When it comes to light cones, Firefly's options are somewhat more limited due to her reliance on Break Effect scaling and her unique Super Break mechanic. Since these are not that readily available however, Light Cones that generally increase her DMG by providing some stats, or otherwise even have synergy with HP drain can become quite useful. Luckily, players will still have access to 4-star and some F2P options to equip her with.

While players may consider Flames Afar due to its F2P availability and SAM artwork, it is actually one of the worst options for Firefly despite its synergy with the HP loss mechanic, unlike being a great option for Blade. This is because Firefly's Super Break doesn't benefit from the increased damage, making half of the effect less useful for her. Nevertheless, if players lack access to other 4-star or 5-star options, it can still suffice.

Among most other 4-star options, The Moles Welcome You is one of the best options, only surpassed by Indelible Promise, as Firefly can still make use of the ATK stat. However other options like Nowhere to Run, Secret Vow, Under the Blue Sky still perform quite similarly, and as such, if players have access to higher refinements of these options, they can still consider them instead of The Moles Welcome You.

Despite being Dan Heng Imbibitor Lunae's light cone, Brighter Than The Sun is one of the higher-performing 5-star options for Firefly, surpassing choices like Something Irreplaceable or The Unreachable Side, as well as an unrefined On the Fall of an Aeon. The ATK boost and Energy Regeneration it provides can be particularly useful for Firefly. However, its synergy is still not the most optimal, so players should consider equipping it only if they do not have access to the above options.

Jingliu's signature light cone, I Shall Be My Own Sword, also performs well with Firefly, offering performance similar to Brighter Than The Sun. Ignoring enemy defense is a particularly strong effect, and when combined with the ATK buff provided by this light cone, it makes for a powerful combination. As such, I Shall Be My Own Sword is the most optimal other-character signature light cone players can equip for Firefly, even though there are better-suited options available.

On the Fall of an Aeon is undoubtedly the best F2P light cone for Firefly, thanks to its ability to increase her ATK and its somewhat synergy with Weakness Break, which Firefly focuses on. Given this, players who have access to this light cone and are not using it on any other character should definitely consider it for Firefly if they are looking for a F2P option.

Even without max superimposition, it can provide a damage output comparable to a max superimposed On the Fall of An Aeon. This makes Indelible Promise an excellent choice for players who are not interested in pulling for Firefly's signature light cone.

It not only boosts her Break Effect but also enhances the damage she deals with Break DMG while debuffing enemies' speed whenever they are dealt Break DMG. For players aiming to fully optimize Firefly, choosing her signature light cone is a niche but excellent decision.
