A curious Honkai: Star Rail player has recently discovered that Himeko’s book in the game has a surprising title. This funny Easter egg shows how much care was put into the game, as there are little neat details such as this hidden joke essentially everywhere in Honkai: Star Rail, like in the trash cans of Belobog, for instance.

Himeko is a secondary character in Honkai: Star Rail who works as the navigator on the Astral Express. She was one of the first 5-star characters to be featured in the game, so she quickly found a niche in most gamers’ teams and became a popular character. In some of the game’s scenes, the studious character is seen reading a book, which players don’t get too much information about.

The Honkai: Star Rail fan Mond003 has recently translated the title of Himeko’s book. Hilariously, the title of the book that belongs to this Fire-based Honkai: Star Rail character is just “Title.” The name of the book was written in Belobog’s alphabet, which was specifically invented for the game’s city of Belobog, set in Jarilo-VI. This new alphabet switches classic alphabet letters for some unique, alien letters. So, to understand it, a player needs to either take quite some time to translate it or look at translations online. While the alphabet is easy to understand as soon as the person knows what letter represents which one, as it’s still written in English, most people would lose this joke if not for Mond003’s effort.

Most of the other fans from the community thought this discovery was amusing, joking that the book was probably written by someone named “Author.” Others, however, thought it was a missed opportunity to name the book “Book” instead of that. Some lore-savvy Honkai: Star Rail fans also had an interesting discussion about the alphabet, wondering whether the Belobog alphabet is an official language for the whole universe or not, with some people arguing that other places used similar writing, and others pointing out that Luofu’s alphabet is different. Therefore, it’s hard to tell which one would be the actual official one.

It’s fair to say that Honkai: Star Rail is a huge hit. The title managed to be downloaded over 20 million times in a single day as it was released, and the numbers keep increasing over time. Part of the reason for such a huge success was, obviously, because it is from the same makers as the famous Genshin Impact. However, the game managed to score several positive reviews, too, living up to the hype by presenting a great story with deep lore, funny Easter eggs like this one, and great visuals.

Honkai: Star Rail is available for PC and mobile devices. PS4 and PS5 versions are in development.
