Honkai: Star Rail Introduces Divergent Universe Mode

Honkai: Star Rail gives every detail about the Divergent Universe mode, confirming that it will work similarly to Pure Fiction and Simulated Universe.

That being said, there are several difficult Honkai: Star Rail achievements to unlock. Most of them are also hidden, making more information about them hard to come by unless you know what you're looking for (or unless you manage to unlock them first). This can make them especially hard to navigate if you're looking to steamroll through achievements and earn Jades quickly. In this article, we'll be covering the hardest achievements to complete in Honkai: Star Rail, along with what players need to do to unlock them.

9 Data Bank Overseer

Have 9999 or more Cosmic Fragment(s) when clearing Simulated Universe: Swarm Disaster

Data Bank Overseer is a hidden achievement. As it notes in its description, players need to have at least 9,999 Cosmic Fragments when they clear Simulated Universe: Swarm Disaster. There are numerous ways to achieve this - though it will still require a strategy - and it's far less reliant on RNG or skill than some other hidden achievements in Honkai: Star Rail.

To complete the Data Bank Overseer achievement, players must first make sure that the first Curio they get their hands on is the Genius Society Gossip Curio. Managing to get other fragment-related Curios like Silver Coins is also a massive help, but without the Genius Society Gossip Curio, the run will rely far too hard on pure RNG. Attempting to reset runs for certain Occurrences may also need to be done, as some Occurrences - such as the IPC Banking or the IPC Promotion Saga Occurrences - will also be of massive help when it comes to gaining fragments. Focusing on Adventure domains will also be of help, as they're more likely to give the player Curios for managing to complete them.

8 Going Dutch

Let Boothill and Aventurine fight over taking the bill

honkai star rail boothill aventurine

Alongside being hidden, this achievement has one of the vaguest descriptions, making it especially difficult for players to know what they should do to unlock it. It can be even harder if players don't have both Boothill and Aventurine, though there are at least a few more days left in the 2.2 update for players who already have Aventurine on their team to unlock this achievement in Boothill's trial.

To unlock this achievement, the player needs to trigger Aventurine's 'Skill 1' voice line and Boothill's 'Battle Begins: Weakness Break' voice line in the same battle. However, even this is slightly confusing; as Boothill's voice line is called 'Battle Begins', players may assume it can only be triggered after breaking an enemy's weakness immediately after the battle starts. However, this is not the case - all that needs to happen to trigger this voice line is for an enemy to be weakness broken by any playable character once Boothill starts his turn. Aventurine also has two possible Skill voice lines that can trigger, so players will need to ensure the correct one is said. Once Aventurine says, "Going all in. Tab's on me." and Boothill says, "Don't worry! This one's on me.", players should get the achievement.

7 King of Curses

When clearing Simulated Universe: Gold and Gears, have 10 or more Negative Curios

honkai star rail negative curios (1)

Unfortunately for achievement hunters, King of Curses is another hidden Simulated Universe achievement that can be completely reliant on RNG - not to mention that most players would much rather avoid Negative Curios than take as many as they can. However, this is relatively easy to achieve once the player has figured out a strategy to try and maximize Negative Curios, though it's so reliant on RNG it may take several tries.

Here, using the Curio Extrapolation Dice or the Occurrence Extrapolation Dice can help with trying to find as many Negative Curios as possible. Similarly, duplicating Occurrence domains with specific Dice will also help with maximizing the chance of finding Curios. Certain dice faces can also help, such as the General: Hesitation and Heterogeneity: Biphasic Dice Faces to quickly attain Negative Curios, and General: Inspiration and General: Attention to help with duplicating Occurrence domains and their rewards.

6 Sea of Rust

Clear Simulated Universe: Gold and Gears at Conundrum Level 12 or higher in Torturous Difficulty

honkai star rail simulated universe gold and gears conundrum 12

Though this achievement is fairly self-explanatory, for any players that have cleared Simulated Universe: Gold and Gears' higher difficulties, it'll quickly become apparent why this achievement is near impossible to unlock. Torturous Difficulty is already hard enough, but ensuring that you defeat it while at Conundrum Level 12 is both time-consuming and a way to ensure that you'll have a much harder time than necessary, as it entails taking the longest route possible through each stage of Gold and Gears while already having to fight and defeat much harder enemies than usual.

Unfortunately, there's also little in the way of advice, too - the only suggestion that can be made is to ensure that players have an especially strong team that can cover all bases, including a DPS, a healer, and a sub-DPS or a support. This will be another RNG-based achievement too, so expect it to take a good few tries while attempting to unlock this achievement.

5 Wardance Achievements

Use allies Yanqing, Dan Heng, Jingliu, Luocha, Sushang, and Jing Yuan to defeat Yanqing

honkai star rail yanqing jingliu

In Honkai: Star Rail, there are several hidden 'Wardance' achievements that can be gained by defeating Yanqing in a fight with a handful of characters that relate to him in some way. While each achievement may not be that hard to unlock - as long as players have all the necessary characters, anyway - gaining all six of them in total is much harder than it seems. It's also quite a tedious process, as each character has to individually deal the final blow against Yanqing.

Enemy Yanqing can be found in World 8 of the Simulated Universe and also at the end of Kafka's story quest. However, he'll be especially difficult to defeat with Yanqing and Jingliu as he has extra damage resistance against ice-type characters. Unfortunately for players who don't have certain characters, such as limited five stars like Luocha, Jing Yuan, and Jingliu, some of these Wardance achievements may be impossible to unlock until they have each character on their team.

The names of each Wardance achievement are:

  • Yanqing: Wardance...?
  • Dan Heng: Spear Trial
  • Jingliu: Soulsteel Trial
  • Luocha: Épée Trial
  • Sushang: Greatsword Trial
  • Jing Yuan: Glaive Trial

4 Soap Opera

Have 4 character(s) enter the sleeping state when battling "Tomorrow in Harmonious Chords."

honkai star rail Tomorrow in Harmonious Chords fight

Soap Opera is a tricky achievement to try and unlock, mostly because of its RNG. While all the player has to do is allow the enemy to inflict a certain debuff called 'Sleep In Heavenly Peace' onto the team, there's still only a chance of the debuff actually triggering on the next turn after the 'Holy Night' move is used. This chance grows even smaller if there are debuffers on the team, such as Huohuo, Bronya, and Aventurine, but also if characters are built with high Effect RES, such as Fu Xuan.

However, there's ample opportunity to try and unlock this achievement at the moment, as the 'Tomorrow in Harmonious Chords' enemies feature in the current Memory of Chaos levels and will likely appear again in future end-game content. 'Tomorrow in Harmonious Chords' can also be defeated as a Formidable Foe in Penacony.

3 Quiet Burning

During the battle against Stellaron Hunter Sam, Sam did not use "DHGDR: Supernova Overload" when their Secondary Combustion state was dispelled

Quiet Burning can be an especially difficult achievement to unlock if the player doesn't own certain characters, as some characters do far better in ensuring the battle goes a certain way to allow this achievement to be unlocked. For this achievement, players will need to fight Stellaron Hunter Sam. Sam enters the 'Combustion' state when the field around them turns into a field of flames. Sam will also gain five Stacks of Combustion, which will appear directly below their HP bar, and the Skill Points bar will turn orange. Players will then need to use as many Skill Points as possible to reduce Sam's stacks of Combustion before Sam takes their next turn, where they will enter 'DHGDR: Supernova Overload'.

The most difficult part of this achievement is the fact that it realistically requires players to own Dan Heng: Imbibitor Lunae (and potentially Sparkle to ensure that Dan Heng can maximize his moves while keeping Skill Points high). Since Dan Heng: Imbibitor Lunae uses multiple Skill Points per turn, it will get through the team's Skill Points as quickly as possible, making the likelihood of achieving Quiet Burning far higher. Unfortunately, characters that appear to have a similar use case to Dan Heng: IL, such as Qingque, do not actually count as having used multiple Skill Points, so players won't be able to use her as a replacement. Another option is using a team with high-speed DPS characters and Bronya in an attempt to clear out your Skill Points as quickly as possible, but Dan Heng: Imbibitor Lunae is by far the best and easiest choice in gaining this achievement.

2 Come Here! Now Go Away!

Use Huohuo's Technique "Fiend: Impeachment of Evil" and simultaneously cause 6 targets to flee

Honkai: Star Rail Leaks Huohuo's Kit, Model, and Combat Animations

This hidden achievement sounds deceptively easy, but players may find it's much harder to unlock than it seems. While all that's needed is to use Huohuo's Technique on the field to scare away six targets, players can be hard-pressed to find a location in regular gameplay with so many enemies clumped together. As such, players will need to think outside the box to unlock this achievement.

The easiest way to do this if you own Huohuo is through Simulated Universe: Swarm Disaster. If players go to an Adventure domain and manage to get the Trotter Catch game, Huohuo can be used whenever she's close to a Trotter to repel them. Since there are so many Trotters in this game mode, this is a relatively quick and easy way to complete the achievement. Another way to do it, which relies on less RNG and allows players who don't own Huohuo but is harder to set up is by using Fu Xuan or Yukong to lure enemies towards the Stagnant Shadow: Shape of Spike location in Jarilo-VI. As Fu Xuan can use her Technique to become immune to enemy attacks, and Yukong can use her Technique to move extremely quickly around the map, dodging enemies faster, both of them can slowly but surely gather a group of six enemies until they stand by the Stagnant Shadow.

Then, players can activate the Stagnant Shadow with Huohuo in their team - including a borrowed Huohuo - and use her Technique to scare them off. It's a little complicated, but it's the easiest way to unlock this achievement for players who don't own Huohuo themselves.

1 Nick of Time

When clearing Simulated Universe: Swarm Disaster with the Path of Abundance, the remaining Countdown is more than or equal to 80

honkai star rail abundance yaoshi

To unlock this achievement, players will need to maximize their countdown to a massive 80 during Simulated Universe: Swarm Disaster, which is not only massively time-consuming but also incredibly reliant on luck and RNG, meaning that a lot of time can be wasted in attempting to unlock this achievement if one thing goes even slightly wrong. Completing this will rely on map layouts generated by the game, placements of Mercy across the map, and having access to cheats and rerolls.

To start off, players must be using the Path of Abundance to ensure that the Mercy effect can be used during the playthrough. The Mercy effect means that if players move to a domain unaffected by Mercy, the countdown will drop by two instead of one. However, if they move to a domain with the Mercy effect on it, the countdown will instead rise by one. Sustenance, Prescription, and Benevolence Dice are a must here, particularly in larger planes like Plane 2, as they will help to spread Mercy and will reward players for having a high amount of Mercy by adding more points to the Countdown.

Cheats and Dice rerolls will also help massively here to ensure that the right Dice can be used to help spread Mercy and gain more Countdown, so Curios like A Pinch of Bearded Gunpowder and Spirits of the Knights of Beauty will also be massively important in gaining more cheats and rerolls. After this, it's simply a matter of skill and luck to ensure that the amount of Mercy across each Plane is maximized. However, it is incredibly easy to find yourself just a few Countdown numbers short of 80, so it's inevitable that this may take multiple tries, especially if you're not used to playing Swarm Disaster or the Path of Abundance in Swarm Disaster in particular.
