In the latest expansion of Honkai: Star Rail, players are introduced to the Penacony area with the version 2.0 update. This update brings a plethora of new areas to explore, characters to meet, and secrets to discover. One of the most significant additions is the introduction of new exploration mechanics specifically tailored for the Penacony expansion, including innovative puzzles and three-dimensional aspects in the Dreamscape. One of the featured areas of the update is the Golden Hour, offering players the chance to uncover numerous chests and secrets. During the main Trailblazer quest, players will explore Golden Hour, where they can find over 30 chests and engage in new interactions with NPC's called Lordly Trashcans, a little similar to Warp Trotters in terms of exploration purposes.

Dream's Edge is an area off-limit for Penacony guests, but Honkai: Star Rail players can sneak in there to claim the Treasure Chests in the area.

For optimal exploration in Golden Hour in Honkai: Star Rail, players are advised to progress through the Trailblazer quest until their journey in Golden Hour is complete. This is because, some chests may be accessible during specific quest segments, such as the Good Omen, My Friend subquest where players interact with Hanu while players are interacting with Sampo. While Golden Hour spans three floors, most of the chests are concentrated on the main area, which is the second floor.

Hanu's Adventure Chests

While players have the opportunity to gather many of the chests during Hanu's Adventure, it's crucial to note that at least one of the chests, specifically the precious chest, must be obtained while completing the "Good Omen, My Friend" subquest. Therefore, it's advisable for players to collect other chests in the area, including three basic chests, while completing this subquest.

In this zone, players will need to switch between Hanu and their standard form to complete and unlock access to areas they otherwise wouldn't be able to reach. This mechanic adds an extra layer of depth and challenge to the exploration of the Goldenhour area.

  • 1: The Boss's Stone Origami Chest (Precious Chest) during the Good Omen, My Friend subquest, located at the upper side reachable by teleporting with the rocket. Players will be teleported outside but they can enter back in to get the remainder of the chests.
  • 2: When re-entered, go north to find the first chest behind a partition.
  • 3: Pass the corridor, and the origami bird and use the rocket to teleport to the other side, transform to original form to get the floating chest.
  • 4: Moving ahead to the right corridor, the last chest is located beside the fence.

Additionally, another Hanu's Adventure exists in another part of the Golden Hour. After this, players can exit Hanu's Adventure area, and teleport to the next one in the southwest of the Golden Hour Map.

  • 5: In this area, players will need to collect the scattered jigsaw pieces. To do so, players will need to transform to normal form first, and destroy the balloon, blocking the tiny corridor. Afterwards, they can collect the puzzle piece right above the stairs, before turning back to Hanu form. After turning to Hanu form, players can use the rocket past the corridor to teleport up the bookshelf and collect the next puzzle piece. There is also an Origami bird in this area. After collecting the puzzle piece, go back to the Dream Jigsaw puzzle board and solve it. Upon solving the puzzle, players will be able to collect the Precious Chest.

This chest does not count for the chest count on the map, similar to the Dream Ticker Puzzles.

  • 7: Get down the short stairs nearby, and continue moving east. The chest is behind a huge sign near the area limits.
  • 8: Move further east up the long stairs, and the chest will be found in the round area on the southern side of a corner.

  • 18: Follow along the corridor upwards to find the chest behind the sitting area.

From this point onwards, instead of primarily going towards the southeast, as well as accessing other floors to obtain the rest of the chests.

  • 19: Heading past the next teleport point towards the south, players will find the chest at the end of a building corner beside the stairs by Robin's poster.
  • 20: The next chest is quite nearby at the other end of the stairs, past a popcorn truck.

  • 22: Head back west towards Hanu's Adventure, and find the chest at a corner nearby.

In this area, players will also find the second Lordly Trashcan near a small NPC. Players should select the first option twice if they would like to avoid the battle.

  • 23: At this point, players should teleport to the Clockie Plaza teleport point on F1, and find it behind the Clockie Statue on the left side between the benches.
  • 24: Following to south from the previous chest downstairs, they will see the next chest on a corridor.
  • 25: Move to the opposite corridor by going up the stairs and heading east to find the next chest.
  • 26: Head back up to the opposite side once again to find the treasure chest beside the Pinball Machine.
  • 27: Use the pinball machine to go to the 3rd floor. Here, players will find the next treasure chest by the manhole, as well as a Dream Ticker Puzzle.
  • 28: Players can now teleport to the Oti Mall teleport point. Head up the stairs, and go west to find the next chest on the side of the building.
  • 29: Near the previous chest, players will find the next one behind a big golden fountain.
  • 30: Players will need to teleport to the Dreammerse Shopping Street teleport point, head upstairs, and find the last treasure chest.
  • 31: Last chest is near the first Hanu Adventure point, by a large billboard.
