When it comes to figuring out which of Fu Xuan's traces to prioritize, players should put most of their focus into her ultimate and skill. They are where most of Fu Xuan's utility comes from, after all. Honkai: Star Rail players should also do their best to level Fu Xuan as high as they can to unlock her ascension bonuses. The most important of which are her fourth and sixth ascension abilities.

Fu Xuan's ascension ability, Dunjia, the Metamystic, allows her ultimate to heal her allies by 5% of her HP on top of its current use. Her ultimate deals AoE damage that scales off of her HP and then triggers her talent. Her talent is always up when she's in battle and reduces damage for her teammates. However, when Fu Xuan uses her ultimate, her talent triggers again to heal her for a large chunk of her missing HP. This can happen twice in a battle.

Fu Xuan's sixth ascension ability, Liuren, the Sexagenary, grants allies the ability to ignore a crowd control debuff from enemies once. This can be refreshed after another uses from her skill. Blocking debuffs, reducing damage, and healing herself makes Fu Xuan a mix between a support and a tank. This is wonderful news for players who can't figure out what teams to use or have spent ages flipping between different characters. Adding a sense of stability in Fu Xuan's team comps is a much-needed relief for players who have pulled her.

However, players should note that her healing from her ultimate might not be enough to make her a sustainable healer for a team. Luckily, Fu Xuan dropped alongside Lynx, a healer who she has a lot of synergy with. Fu Xuan can be used alongside almost anybody though, so players don't need to panic if they don't have a specific unit. However, if players want to test her skill alone to see if they need a healer on the team with her, a great place to test would be Memory of Chaos. Since this allows players to run two different teams at once, they can experiment with Fu Xuan's capabilities and see how they should change her for their needs.

Should players find they want to invest a lot into Fu Xuan, they don't need to worry about dishing out a lot of Stellar Jade. She has plenty of free-to-play light cones that she can use. We Are Wildfire may be the most accessible weapon for the master diviner. However, the three-star Defense light cone is another easy pick for Fu Xuan. Players can easily build her and slot her into teams as needed.
