Firefly is a member of the Stellaron Hunters, one of the main factions of the Honkai: Star Rail universe.

Honkai: Star Rail keeps on expanding its character roster with each patch and the game has already confirmed the arrival of five-stars Firefly and Jade for update 2.3. Firefly was first introduced in-game during Penacony's story quest in version 2.0 and players have since learned that she is actually the Stellaron hunter known as SAM. It is by wearing the SAM mech armor that Firefly combats enemies.

Why Honkai: Star Rail's Setting May Always Have a Leg Up on Genshin Impact

Honkai: Star Rail and Genshin Impact have beautiful settings, but the former definitely has a leg up in expanding its universe.

Firefly's complete kit was revealed through a video on Honkai: Star Rail's official YouTube channel. The 5-star is a fire-type DPS who follows the path of Destruction. When it comes to Firefly's mechanics, her Ultimate is key to dealing the most damage possible on enemies. The move allows her to enter the state of "Complete Combustion" and enhances both her basic attack and skill. Players should also note that Firefly's enhanced skill scales off of the unit's Attack and Break Effect stats, which can work well with Harmony Trailblazer's Break Effect buffs.

Another of Firefly's special traits is how she reduces her own HP when using her skill. However, players can rest assured this is for the better: thanks to her talent, the lower Firefly's HP, the less damage she sustains in combat. These mechanics show how the character is particularly useful in the field. Meanwhile, details on her lore show how Firefly actually has a very sad backstory.

Honkai: Star Rail Firefly's Kit Explained

  • Basic Attack: Flare Propulsion - Applies fire DMG to a single enemy.
  • Skill: Order: Aerial Bombardment - Consumes her own HP to regenerate a set amount of energy and deals increased fire DMG to a single enemy. Her next action is also advanced forward.
  • Ultimate: Fyrefly Type-IV:Complete Combustion - Enhances her basic attack and skill. Her next action is advanced by 100%. In this state, her Weakness Break Efficiency, Speed, and Effect RES are increased. Her talent's damage reduction is increased too.
  • Enhanced Basic Attack: Fyrefly Type-IV: Pyrogenic Decimation - Restores her HP and deals increased fire DMG to a single enemy.
  • Enhanced Skill: Fyrefly Type-IV: Deathstar Overload - Restores her HP and applies fire weakness to an enemy during a set number of turns. She also deals fire DMG to a target and the enemies adjacent to it scaling off of her Break Effect and Attack stats.
  • Talent: Crysalid Pyronexus - The lower Firefly's HP is, the less DMG she takes from enemies. In addition to this, when she enters combat and her energy is below a certain percentage, Firefly will regenerate her own energy. When her energy is fully restored, she eliminates all debuffs on herself.
  • Trace: Module α: Antilag Outburst - When unlocking this trace, Firefly's Ultimate can reduce an enemy's toughness even without them having a fire weakness.
  • Technique: Order: Meteoric Incineration - Firefly enters her SAM armor and attacks enemies descending from the air and deals fire DMG to all of them. Upon entering each wave in battle, all enemies acquire a fire weakness for a set number of turns.

Players who want to pull for Firefly must gather as many Stellar Jades as possible before she drops in the first-half banners of patch 2.3 alongside Ruan Mei. Another new character, Jade, will come in the second phase of the update. The next version arrives on June 19 and many exciting updates are coming to Honkai: Star Rail, including a new location, permanent game modes, and a new Trailblaze Mission.
