Being a gacha game, Honkai: Star Rail offers players additional ways to make their characters stronger, including light cones, relics, and talent upgrades. One primary way to further increase a character's potential is through Eidolons, which are unlocked when players obtain more copies of the character, up to a total of 6 additional copies. This system bears a striking resemblance to Genshin Impact, another successful title in the HoYoVerse, which also relies on gacha mechanics to enhance character utility through constellations.

While most characters in Honkai: Star Rail are already strong even without Eidolons, particularly the 5-star characters, players can still benefit from prioritizing certain constellations and paying attention to rate-up characters during their pulls. It's worth noting that only E1, E2, E4, and E6 provide unique benefits, while E3 and E5 increase the trace level of characters' skills and ultimate. The value of an Eidolon may not always be immediately apparent or comparable, but for players seeking to maximize value, understanding the priority of each character's Eidolon can help determine when to stop pulling and avoid spending more Stellar Jade than essential. Here's an alphabetical list of all available characters and their Eidolon priorities.

Arlan

Honkai Star Rail Arlan Best Skills
  • Eidolon Priority: E2 > E4 > E6 > E1

Arlan's Eidolons primarily focus on his HP management, as his skill has limitations based on his HP percentage. Among his Eidolons, the second one is the most useful, as it allows him to deal more damage with his skill and dispel a debuff on himself. Additionally, E4 can greatly enhance Arlan's survivability by preventing him from being knocked down once per battle. This survivability benefit is particularly important in content like Forgotten Hall, where obtaining more stars may depend on it.

Asta

Honkai Star Rail_ Asta
  • Eidolon Priority: E2 > E4 > E6 > E1

Asta's Eidolons mainly focus on her charging stacks, which she obtains through her Talent. These stacks allow her to further buff her allies based on the number of enemies hit after Asta uses her skill. Therefore, maintaining a high number of stacks consistently is always beneficial for Asta. Among her Eidolons, only the second and sixth ones help prolong the duration of the stacks. Additionally, the fourth Eidolon is valuable as it helps Asta generate more energy, allowing her to use her Ultimate more frequently and extend the duration of her buffs for her allies.

Bailu

Honkai Star Rail - PNG and General Ultimate Screencap Of Bailu
  • Eidolon Priority: E4 > E6 > E1 > E2

Bailu is already a great healer even without any Eidolons, but surprisingly, her best Eidolons provide even more utility to the party in addition to enhancing her healing capabilities. For instance, her E4 Eidolon is highly beneficial as it enables the healed ally to deal increased damage in subsequent turns, granting Bailu some offensive support potential. However, this may not be as useful when Bailu needs to heal non-DPS units. On the other hand, her E6 Eidolon proves particularly useful in content such as the Forgotten Hall, where avoiding being knocked down altogether is necessary for earning one of the stars. With the ability to save allies twice instead of just once, Bailu's effectiveness is further enhanced particularly in the end-game content.

Bronya

  • Eidolon Priority: E2 > E6 > E1 > E4

Related: Honkai: Star Rail – How To Beat Bronya

Bronya is widely regarded as one of the best support units, although she does have one primary drawback: her skills consume a significant amount of skill points, especially if players don't have access to her signature light cone. However, in addition to her light cone, her Eidolons, such as E1 and E6, can greatly assist in managing skill points. Her second Eidolon, in particular, is highly valuable as it provides a speed buff to the targeted ally, allowing them to attack multiple times in a turn before the enemy can react. On the other hand, her fourth Eidolon is not as impactful since it only affects her basic attacks. Nevertheless, it can still prove useful for breaking enemy weaknesses in certain situations.

Clara

Honkai Star Rail Clara Build with Svarog
  • Eidolon Priority: E1 > E2 > E6 > E4

Players who own Clara are fortunate because her best Eidolons are among her earliest ones. This enables players to maximize Clara's counter and damage potential without the need to invest in her later Eidolons. Her first Eidolon ensures that enemies retain their Mark after Clara uses her skill, thereby further enhancing Svarog's counter abilities. Additionally, her second Eidolon boosts Clara's ATK by 30% after she employs her Ultimate, which is a significant increase.

Dan Heng

Dan Heng aboard the Xianzhou Luofu in Honkai: Star Rail
  • Eidolon Priority: E4 > E2 > E1 > E6

Dan Heng's Eidolons provide him with various benefits, each enhancing different aspects of his kit. Particularly noteworthy is his fourth Eidolon, which grants him an additional attack after defeating an enemy with his Ultimate by advancing his action. This ability bears some resemblance to Seele's Talent. Furthermore, his Eidolons offer buffs such as increased Crit Rate, further debuffing enemy speed, or enabling more frequent activation of his talent.

Gepard

Honkai Star Rail_ Gepard
  • Eidolon Priority: E1 > E2 > E6 > E4

Similar to Clara, Gepard benefits the most from his earlier Eidolons, as they provide the entire team with a turn advantage and defensive benefits. With his first Eidolon, Gepard can more easily Freeze enemies, while his second Eidolon allows him to further reduce the speed of Unfrozen enemies, who are already slowed down due to the Freeze effect. However, his E6 and E4 Eidolons may not be as impactful. The E6 Eidolon can only trigger once per battle, and the E4 Eidolon grants allies an Effect Res buff instead of providing additional utility or offensive stats.

Herta

Herta in her office in Honkai: Star Rail
  • Eidolon Priority: E6 > E4 > E2 > E1

While players can unlock some constellations for Herta by completing Simulated Universe levels, her most powerful Eidolons are unfortunately not accessible through this method. Her sixth Eidolon is the most significant, as the rest of her Eidolons primarily focus on her Talent, which only triggers once per enemy, making them less useful in certain content. However, Herta can obtain a significant attack boost after using her Ultimate thanks to her sixth Eidolon. Although she may not be able to use her Ultimate frequently, it still provides a more consistent way to increase her attack potential compared to other options.

Himeko

  • Eidolon Priority: E1 > E4 > E6 > E2

Related: Honkai Star Rail: Every Playable Character, Ranked

Himeko's Eidolons are generally quite useful due to their strong buffs, but her first Eidolon stands out as the most valuable. After her follow-up attack, her speed increases, which provides significant value as speed is a highly important stat for most characters. Additionally, her fourth Eidolon enables her to activate her follow-up skill more frequently, which is particularly beneficial in teams focused on inflicting weakness breaks regularly. While not as high of a priority, her sixth Eidolon notably enhances her Ultimate by increasing the number of hits, making it easier to deplete the toughness meter when applicable.

Hook

Hook's ultimate in Honkai: Star Rail
  • Eidolon Priority: E4 > E6 > E2 > E1

Hook's best Eidolons primarily enhance her potential as a burn DoT focused character. Her fourth Eidolon improves the base chance of Burn, while her second Eidolon extends its duration. Additionally, her sixth Eidolon increases all of Hook's damage, including the damage from Burn itself when inflicted on enemies. These Eidolons make Hook an excellent choice for teams focused on DoT and Break Effects, as they enhance her abilities without requiring as much emphasis on effect hit rate while building her.

Jing Yuan

jing yuan honkai star rail
  • Eidolon Priority: E6 > E4 > E2 > E1

Jing Yuan is an exceptional AoE DPS character even without any Eidolons. However, players aiming to maximize the value of each Eidolon will need to fully unlock his Eidolons, as they improve with each copy obtained. This can be seen as good news for F2P players who prefer to save their Stellar Jade for other characters, as they are not required to invest in any of Jing Yuan's Eidolons if they are not going for all. If he had his stronger Eidolons available earlier, players might have felt compelled to commit to them. Notably, Jing Yuan's sixth Eidolon is exceptionally potent, as it increases the damage taken by all enemies by up to 36%, significantly boosting Lightning Lord's damage potential with every hit.

Luocha

luocha in honkai star rail
  • Eidolon Priority: E6 > E1 > E2 > E4

Luocha's Eidolon priority can be a bit tricky, as it depends on whether players want to enhance his defensive support role or boost his offensive capabilities, as well as the team composition. For instance, his first Eidolon grants an ATK increase, which is beneficial for his own healing and DPS potential, as well as for DPS characters like Jing Yuan or Seele. However, it may not be as useful for characters like Blade or future characters that don't heavily rely on ATK scaling. On the other hand, his sixth Eidolon has a unique aspect as it debuffs all enemies, providing both offensive and defensive advantages. His second and fourth Eidolons, on the other hand, offer more defensive utility.

March 7th

Honkai Star Rail's March 7th taking a selfie
  • Eidolon Priority: E6 > E1 > E4 > E2

March 7th's sixth constellation grants her the ability to heal alongside her main kit providing allies with a shield, which is excellent for players without a well-built healer. Although the healing amount is not exceptionally high, it enables the team to survive longer and recover over time, even without a dedicated healer. Another highly valuable Eidolon for March 7th is her first one, as it allows her to perform additional follow-up attacks. This increases her potential as a sub-DPS and helps break enemy weaknesses whenever possible.

Natasha

Natasha using her ultimate in Honkai: Star Rail
  • Eidolon Priority: E1 > E2 > E4 > E6

Being one of the few available healers and given freely to players, Natasha holds significant value in many team compositions, particularly in challenging content. Fortunately, her Eidolons also provide substantial benefits. Her first Eidolon is a high priority as it significantly increases Natasha's survivability. Additionally, her second Eidolon is beneficial as it provides additional healing to the team when they are hit by a strong attack that reduces their HP below 30%, thus improving overall team survivability. On the other hand, the priority of E4 and E6 is debatable. The fourth Eidolon may be more valuable in battles where enemies have AoE attacks or there is no character with taunt ability, while the sixth Eidolon may prove more useful in opposite situations.

Pela

Honkai Star Rail - PNG and General Ultimate Screencap Of Pela
  • Eidolon Priority: E4 > E1 > E2 > E6

Pela is already significantly beneficial without any Eidolons, but her fourth Eidolon, in particular, can prove very useful. It allows her to freeze enemies more frequently and deal more damage by reducing their Ice Res, which is especially handy when paired with other Ice characters like Yanqing. Additionally, players can also benefit greatly from her first Eidolon, particularly in battles where the enemy frequently summons additional opponents, such as in Forgotten Hall and Simulated Universe. Therefore, players who struggle with Energy Regeneration for Pela can find this Eidolon to be very helpful.

Qingque

Honkai Star Rail - PNG and General Ultimate Screencap Of Qingque
  • Eidolon Priority: E6 > E4 > E2 > E1

Having access to a unique RNG mechanic that allows her to deal more damage, Qingque can be quite a skill point-heavy character if players are unlucky. However, her sixth Eidolon effectively solves this skill point problem by allowing her to generate a skill point after using an Enhanced basic attack, which is otherwise not possible. Her fourth Eidolon is also quite unique as it grants Qingque a follow-up attack mechanic that is otherwise unavailable. Her second Eidolon can also prove useful to some players as it assists with energy regeneration, although its value is not particularly significant and therefore not as high of a priority.

Sampo

Honkai Star Rail - PNG and General Ultimate Screencap Of Sampo
  • Eidolon Priority: E6 > E4 > E2 > E1

Often under-appreciated, Sampo's kit can be quite handy when built with the right team composition that greatly benefits from DoT, particularly with Wind Sheer. Unfortunately, only his later constellations hold significant value in maximizing the effectiveness of Wind Sheer. In particular, his sixth Eidolon is quite nice, although not necessary, as it increases the Wind Sheer multiplier damage, allowing him to deal more damage as more stacks are applied.

Seele

Honkai Star Rail_ Seele 1
  • Eidolon Priority: E6 > E1 > E2 > E4

Seele is another character that can be tricky to prioritize when considering the value of her Eidolons, as all of them are actually very powerful. While her E6 significantly increases her damage potential, both E1 and E2 focus on stats such as Critical Rate and Speed, which highly benefit Seele and can help her deal more consistent damage without the need to heavily invest in her relics. Generally, if players are already able to reach a crit rate of over 50%, E1 may not appear as valuable. However, for those who haven't reached that threshold, it proves to be of high value, especially when considering the additional buffs they can gain from Seele's best planar ornament set.

Serval

Serval in Honkai Star Rail
  • Eidolon Priority: E4 > E6 > E2 > E1

Related: Honkai: Star Rail – Best Serval Light Cones

Serval's Eidolons bear a resemblance to Hook's, but instead of inflicting Burn, they focus on Shock damage. Consequently, her fourth Eidolon proves to be the most useful as it enables Serval to consistently apply Shock to enemies. Furthermore, similar to Hook's E6, Serval's E6 also enhances her damage output against Shocked enemies, increasing her potential as both a main and sub-DPS character.

Silver Wolf

honkai star rail silver wolf detail
  • Eidolon Priority: E2 > E6 > E1 > E4

Silver Wolf's inherent ability to inflict weakness on enemies already makes her considerably powerful even without any Eidolons. However, her second constellation plays a significant role in enhancing her debuff application, benefiting not only herself but also her allies. Furthermore, her sixth constellation effectively transforms her into a primary DPS character, whereas her natural role as a Nihility character leans more towards debuffs and sub-DPS. Her first constellation can also prove valuable in teams that can consistently maintain debuff application, as it allows her to more rapidly utilize her Ultimate through the provided energy regeneration.

Sushang

Honkai Star Rail - PNG and General Ultimate Screencap Of Sushang
  • Eidolon Priority: E6 > E4 > E1 > E2

Sushang's Eidolons offer distinct advantages that enhance her capabilities in different ways. Notably, her sixth constellation stands out by providing additional speed, thanks to her stackable Talent. Another noteworthy Eidolon is her fourth constellation, which enhances her effectiveness in dealing damage during Weakness Breaks, while her first constellation aids in skill point management. On the other hand, her second constellation is comparatively less significant since it briefly reduces the damage she takes instead of directly increasing her or the team's damage potential.

Tingyun

Honkai Star Rail - PNG and General Ultimate Screencap Of Tingyun
  • Eidolon Priority: E6 > E4 > E1 > E2

Tingyun's Eidolons provide valuable support to her allies by aiding in additional energy regeneration and increasing their damage output. While all of her Eidolons offer significant benefits, her sixth constellation stands out as the most exceptional. It allows Tingyun to further enhance her allies' energy generation, proving useful even when she uses her Ultimate to buff a non-primary DPS ally. This versatility sets her sixth constellation apart from the other Eidolons she possesses, making it the most well-rounded option in terms of utility.

Welt

Honkai Star Rail Mr. Welt Gameplay
  • Eidolon Priority: E4 > E2 > E1 > E6

Welt's fourth Eidolon proves highly valuable in inflicting Slow on enemies, reducing the need to prioritize effect hit rate in his build. As a result, it provides the most team-wide benefit compared to his other Eidolons. However, his second and first Eidolons can be advantageous in increasing his Ultimate's frequency of use and enhancing its power, ultimately enabling him to deal even greater damage.

Yanqing

Honkai Star Rail_ Yanqing
  • Eidolon Priority: E1 > E4 > E6 > E2

Yanqing possesses one of the most unique Eidolons, particularly his first Eidolon, which enhances his damage against frozen targets while removing their Frozen effect. This is noteworthy as dispelling the frozen status can generally be seen as a disadvantage in certain situations. Nonetheless, this Eidolon remains his strongest, followed by his fourth Eidolon, which increases his Ice Resistance Penetration, enabling him to consistently deal more damage as long as his HP remains above 80%.

Yukong

Honkai Star Rail - Yukong Splash Art
  • Eidolon Priority: E6 > E1 > E4 > E2

Yukong's buffing utility primarily centers around Roaring Bowstrings, which necessitates careful turn order management for optimal effectiveness. However, her sixth constellation proves highly beneficial as it enables all allies to benefit from the ATK% buff provided by her skill, provided her Ultimate is used at the right moment to gain an additional stack. Nonetheless, her other Eidolons also hold great value, with her first Eidolon boosting the speed of all allies for two turns, and her fourth Eidolon enhancing her damage output, which proves particularly advantageous against opponents with Imaginary Weakness.

Honkai Star Rail is available now on Mobile and PC, with a PS5 version launching in Q4 2023.
