Highlights

  • Despite being one of the few characters available at launch, Bronya has proven to be invaluable as a support character in Honkai: Star Rail, and she continues to be highly regarded as new characters are added.
  • Bronya excels in her support role by buffing her teammates' ATK and Crit Damage, as well as manipulating turn order. Players have found her abilities to be a valuable asset to their teams.
  • Contrary to initial assumptions, Bronya's best build resembles that of a DPS character. Her ultimate ability scales off her personal ATK and Crit Damage, benefiting both herself and her allies. Her character ascension abilities further enhance her kit, making her a versatile addition to any team.

Upon its launch, Bronya was one of very few characters that Honkai: Star Rail had available. But by no means should players undermine the value a character at launch has. Bronya has found herself at the top of many players lists for a support. And as more characters get added to Honkai: Star Rail, players find that she stays at the top of those lists, as she has many uses.

Finding herself as a staple across several teams, Bronya can do her role as support like no other. She massively buffs a teammate's ATK and then Crit Damage based off of her own. She's also able to quickly move someone's turn up by using her skill on them. With abilities like these, players have found themselves enthusiastic to have her. The only confusing aspect for Honkai: Star Rail fans has been knowing how to build Bronya. After all, since she buffs characters based on her Crit Damage, she should be built like a DPS.

Honkai: Star Rail's Bronya's Kit

No matter how confusing it sounds, Bronya's best build would be one that resembles a DPS. Her ultimate's buffs scale off of her personal ATK and Crit Damage and then gives out a certain percentage of that to all allies. Not only that, but there will be another bonus of Crit Damage added to her allies depending on her ultimate's trace level. And when Bronya is fully ascended, she will unlock her character ascension abilities.

These add another layer of fun to her kit. The first one she unlocks will give her normal attacks 100% crit rate. And though this does not benefit her allies, it introduces the fun capability of making her the DPS of the team. Though not usually viable, it certainly isn't off the table. Her second unlocked ability raises all allies' DEF by 20%. While it's always good to make sure no units are particularly squishy, this buff can be perfect for most of Honkai: Star Rail's Preservation units, since the majority of them are shielders who scale off of DEF. And Bronya's last ascension ability adds 10% overall more damage for her allies just by being on the field.

When it comes to pairing her up with other teammates, Bronya's team comps can be fairly universal. Her utility as a support can be used in almost any team, but she has particularly great synergy with Seele and Blade. Most of their teams include her on the team, since she's one of the best supports players could give them. The damage potential of her teams raise exponentially when paired with Tingyun as well. With Bronya buffing ATK and Crit Damage and Tingyun buffing ATK and energy regeneration, these two can make their team's DPS unstoppable. Most nuke builds include the pair of supports to see bigger numbers and break player's previous records.

Choosing the right light cone for Bronya isn't a difficult task at all. She has a great many options, even including the three-star light cone Chorus, which buffs party ATK by a certain percentage depending on its superimposition level. And since it's a three-star, it is much easier to superimpose than light cones like Bronya's signature, But The Battle Isn't Over. However, those are not the only two viable options for the Wind user, as the many shops in Honkai: Star Rail offer plenty of solid four-star light cones for her.
