Homeworld 3: Best Perks To Prioritize In War Games
Homeworld 3 War Games allow players to unlock artifact abilities for their entire fleet, and some are better than others.
One of the gameplay modes in Homeworld 3 is skirmish matches. These can either be played against other players or against AI enemies. It can take a while to master skirmish matches, as the gameplay is much faster than the campaign. There are a few things all players can do to maximize their chance of a win in this classic space RTS game.
7 Get The Maximum Number Of Harvesters Running
To Maximize Resource Collection
The real key to winning skirmish games in Homeworld 3, is to make sure that there are always plenty of resources available to keep building new fleet units. This means that resource collectors need to be working at all times.

Homeworld 3: Best Starting Fleets For War Games
Homeworld 3 includes a new game mode, War Games. Players unlock different fleets that they can use in these co-op battles.
The first thing a player should do when starting a skirmish PvE or PvP game, is queue up the maximum number of resource collectors for construction, and then make sure that each new resource collector is assigned to a save resource node once it has been produced. This will ensure maximum efficiency in resource harvesting.
6 Queue Up Dozens Of Replacement Units
So That Fleets Are Always Replenished
Once battle is joined, it can become very difficult to keep on top of fleet losses and building replacement units. There is a simple trick that all players can use here, that will entirely eliminate the need to macro manage fleet replacements.
All the player has to do is queue up a few dozen of each unit as soon as they have been researched. Doing this will ensure that as a unit is destroyed, another one will be constructed from the build queue to replace it.
5 Queue Up All Possible Research
To Unlock Unit Upgrades
In the early stages of a skirmish game, Homeworld 3 players can get by using strikecraft and a few assault frigates. However, before long, the player will likely face advanced units or capital ships, such as destroyers and carriers. Therefore, they need to combat like with like.
The best way for a player to make sure they are not outclassed in unit size is to simply queue up all possible research as soon as it is ready to unlock. Whether they have the resources at that time to undertake the research or not. As soon as resources become available, research will begin.
4 Build Up A Sizable Fleet
Ready For An Overwhelming Attack
Skirmish games in Homeworld 3 can be pretty brutal. There is little to no point in attacking another player or AI opponent with a smaller fleet formation. This is simply throwing away resources, as the fleet would likely be destroyed entirely.

Homeworld 3: 7 Best Improvements Over The Older Games
Homeworld 3 launched two decades after the release of its predecessor, and as such, the latest game has made a few improvements to older systems.
Instead, the player should wait until they have a sizable fleet ready, that has a good mix of units. A fleet needs strikecraft to take out enemy fighters, assault frigates or other medium-sized craft to supply DPS, and a few capital class ships to take down equivalent-sized enemy ships.
3 Don’t Forget To Assign Defenses
In Case The Enemy Strikes
Some players are sneaky opponents in skirmish games. They will create a small fleet of ships and hide them somewhere on the map. The idea is that they wait for the player to attack and then send this small fleet in to take down the player’s mothership.
The best way to protect against such a sneak attack, is to make sure that at least a small fleet is always set to guard the carrier at all times. This means that when combat takes focus, the player is safe to ignore their carrier and concentrate on controlling their attacking fleet.
2 Use Support Frigates
To Sustain Attack Fleets
Player fleets always suffer some level of attrition during skirmish games in Homeworld 3. Unfortunately, once attrition reaches critical levels, the fleet becomes too weak to protect itself and can then be summarily destroyed by an enemy. This holds true for both Incarnate and Higaran fleets.
This is where support frigates have an important role in a fleet. A few support frigates sprinkled into the fleet mix will add sustainability. The support frigates will automatically repair any damaged ships and keep them in the fight longer. This lowers the overall ship attrition rate, and also saves on resources.
1 Go All In
When Ready, Attack With Force
When it comes time to strike, make sure to strike hard. Don’t be tempted to hold forces back apart from any that are left on defense duty at the player mothership. Make sure to attack with every possible unit.

Often, the end of a skirmish match in Homeworld 3 will be a huge furball, and it will come down to a numbers game to decide which combatant wins the game. There is nothing more annoying than losing a skirmish match by a small margin, so make sure that an attacking fleet can win by overwhelming the enemy.
