New fan art for Team Cherry's Hollow Knight has turned the game's beloved protagonist into a teenager with years of battle experience. The highly successful release of Hollow Knight spawned a massive community of fans that eagerly await the next entry in the series, Hollow Knight: Silksong.

In Hollow Knight, players control a young insectoid warrior known as the Knight. The Knight is determined to cleanse the kingdom of Hallownest of a deadly plague known as the Infection. Hollow Knight's protagonist is tasked with defeating three bugs known as Dreamers in order to remove seals and confront the source of the plague. While attempting to save the remnants of Hallownest, the Knight meets and battles Hornet, the protagonist of Hollow Knight: Silksong. The community's excitement for Hollow Knight: Silksong continues to grow, and many fans celebrate the original game with fan art and user-created content.

Artist and Hollow Knight fan Likryt recently finished an original concept for a teenage version of the Knight. The new fan art depicts the Knight as a battle-hardened warrior a few years after reaching one of the endings in Hollow Knight. Moreover, the Knight retains the signature dark blue cloak and Nail, which served as the protagonist's main weapon in combat.

The teenage version of Hollow Knight's protagonist appears to be as tall as the Hollow Knight: Silksong protagonist. Likryt teases an original adult concept of the Hollow Knight protagonist if the new art piece meets its like and retweet goal on Twitter. Unsurprisingly, the original concept quickly met its goal on the platform today as fans await official news about Hollow Knight: Silksong from Team Cherry.

It's unclear whether the Knight will return in Hollow Knight: Silksong, but the new art by Likryt provides an intriguing concept for an older version of the character. The fan art suggests that Hollow Knight's protagonist could face tough opponents after the events of the first game, and this idea may become popular when an update about Hollow Knight: Silksong finally comes.

The hype for Hollow Knight: Silksong grows with fans wanting Team Cherry to meet their high expectations. Despite the lack of Hollow Knight: Silksong news at the recent Nintendo Indie World showcase, more gaming events in 2023 may provide an opportunity for the highly anticipated sequel to resurface.

Hollow Knight is available now for Linux, macOS, PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
