The new Hollow Knight fanmade mod called Pale Court adds a ton of exciting and good-looking new content to Team Cherry's indie masterpiece. This content will hopefully hold over the diehard fans who continue to wait for the delayed release of Hollow Knight: Silksong.

The original Hollow Knight is a little over six years old, but the fans certainly haven't forgotten it. As the release of its sequel continues to be pushed back, much to the chagrin of the fans, many continue to go back and replay the original, exploring its large, cavernous map and taking on its numerous challenging bosses over and over again to fill the void left by a lack of new content. Thankfully, some fans have taken it upon themselves to fill that void, and thus, the Pale Court mod was born.

After some significant development time, the Hollow Knight Pale Court mod finally hit the internet. It adds a ton of new content to the game, the main focus of which is all of the new bosses. The trailer shows off many of these bosses in action, and they definitely look like they can challenge even veteran players of the Metroidvania and could possibly rate with some of the best Hollow Knight bosses ever.

The Pale Court mod also adds things like new charms, music, and artwork that fits perfectly within the world of Hollow Knight. There's not much info about all of the new bosses or charms just yet, and there is some talk about some interesting secrets, but fans have already been showing how potentially overpowered some of the new charms can be. The mod is currently only available via Scarab+, which is a mod installer specifically for Hollow Knight on PC, so players who own the game on console sadly won't have access to this fanmade mod. Team Cherry could possibly do an officially sanctioned version of the mod one day, which would be great to see and has worked out well in the past for companies like Sega, for example, that hired modders to make the massively successful Sonic Mania.

Hollow Knight: Silksong still has no known release date, and many fans are fearing it will get pushed back all the way to 2024. What has been shown of the game makes it look like Silksong will make a lot of interesting changes and amp up the intensity of the previous game's legendary boss fights. But until players can get their hands on the game to see for themselves, the unofficial, fanmade Pale Court mod will at least give players a reason to dive into the world of Hollow Knight again.

Hollow Knight is available for PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One.
