There's quite the abundance of side content to discover in Hogwarts Legacy. Players can take on Merlin Trials to increase slots for extra gears; there are tons of sidequests to complete for cash and other rewards; and there also Treasure Vaults scattered about the world to figure out.

There are different types of Treasure Vaults to find across the land, but this guide will go over one vault in particular that's not too far south of Hogwarts Castle. In fact, this Treasure Vault in South Hogwarts is right behind the isolated shack that Hagrid lives in during the mainline Harry Potter books/films that Harry and the gang often visit to speak to the half-giant, half-human groundskeeper.

How to Get to the Treasure Vault in South Hogwarts

Players can find this particular Treasure Vault by following the southern path leading out of the Hogwarts school. Eventually, players will run into the shack that we mentioned earlier, which is shown on the map below. The red circle is the location of the vault itself, while the shack is just a few feet west of it. Just go down from the shack towards the water and the Vault icon will appear on the map.

How to Open the Treasure Vault in South Hogwarts

There will be a stone wall embedded into the side of the cliff and players might notice a cube nearby with a fire symbol on it. There's also a stone pedestal of sorts in front of the stone wall, and players will need to get the cube over to the pedestal and then hit with a fire spell. To do all of this, players will need at least two spells: Accio and Incendio.

• Accio is earned by completing one of the mandatory story quests involving Charms class.
• Incendio is obtained by completing the first assignment from Professor Hecat, which involves beating other students in Crossed Wands and beating up on a practice dummy with Lucan Brattleby.

Use Accio to position the cube in front of the vault and then use Incendio to activate it, causing the vault door to open. Inside the vault, players can find a piece of gear in a chest, which will be a random drop.
