Nintendo Switch gamers can now pre-order the digital version of Hogwarts Legacy and get an Onyx Hippogriff as a free bonus. The Nintendo Switch port of Hogwarts Legacy has been a long time coming. Switch gamers previously thought they would be able to start their open world Hogwarts adventures this past summer, but the game was ultimately delayed to November 14.

November 14 is nearly here, and so the long wait for Hogwarts Legacy on the Switch is nearly at an end. Avalanche Software hasn't shown much of the Hogwarts Legacy Switch version yet, and so there are some questions about how exactly it will perform on Nintendo's home console/handheld hybrid. Those who are confident about the Hogwarts Legacy Switch port after seeing how the PS4 and Xbox One versions were handled and want to pre-order can do so starting now to secure an Onyx Hippogriff for their game.

When Hogwarts Legacy does finally release on the Nintendo Switch, it will be exciting to see how it performs. Hogwarts Legacy is a massive open world game with high-quality graphics and animations, to the point where many were skeptical about how it would even run on the PS4 and Xbox One. When the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Hogwarts Legacy dropped, many were pleasantly surprised at just how well the game performed on those older systems, so there is some cautious optimism about the Switch port.

The Nintendo Switch may not be the most powerful console on the market, but it does have some sizable open world RPGs readily available, like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt and The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. It's possible the Switch port of Hogwarts Legacy will be on par with those games, but it's also possible that there will be some unfortunate technical or graphical issues that hold it back. Until Avalanche Software and WB reveal proper footage of the Switch version, all fans can do is speculate about how it performs.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X with a Switch version coming November 14.
