A new mod for Hogwarts Legacy replaces one of the brooms in-game with Star Wars speeder bikes, complete with Hogwarts house colors. Choosing a house is one of Hogwarts Legacy's biggest choices, and this mod just adds another layer to the decision.

Although it's early days for Hogwarts Legacy, the early signs for the game's modding community are extremely positive. Modders are still getting to grips with the limitations of the game, but it won't be long before mods are becoming more and more ambitious in scale. Right now, many of the mods available for the game are simple replacements that are usually quite silly. One Hogwarts Legacy mod even adds Thomas the Tank Engine as a replacement for the Hogwarts Express, which is obviously not meant to be taken seriously.

The mod was uploaded to Nexus Mods by user OblivionKnight777, and replaces the Ember Dash Broom with Star Wars speeder bikes in varying colors dependent upon the player's Hogwarts house. It's a cool idea that makes the effort to mix the two franchises together and try and have it make some sort of sense. Most replacement mods just won't make this kind of effort. However, some mods don't need to, as they're already based on Harry Potter, such as one mod that lets gamers play as Voldemort in Hogwarts Legacy. Players will have their individual preferences on the type of mods they like, with some preferring to keep the game strictly lore-friendly, even with mods.

Since the game's release, OblivionKnight777 has been hard at work creating various replacement mods for Hogwarts Legacy. A look at their Nexus Mods profile shows that they've even created a Bat-Wing mod, bringing the Caped Crusader to the Wizarding World. Unfortunately, on the mod page, the user doesn't share what their future plans are for Hogwarts Legacy mods, but they're certainly worth looking out for.

With millions of players enjoying the game, it's hard not to be excited about the future of the Harry Potter franchise again. It's been in a state of limbo for some time after the struggles of the Fantastic Beasts film series, but it seems that Avalanche Software has well and truly revived the franchise in the public eye with Hogwarts Legacy. It remains to be seen if the game will receive a sequel, but with sales of Hogwarts Legacy approaching the sales of Elden Ring already, it seems extremely likely that players will have more Wizarding World games in the coming years.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions launching May 5 and a Switch port releasing July 25.
