Many players are delving into the Avalanche Software action RPG Hogwarts Legacy, and one fan has clipped a peculiar moment that shows Sebastian collapsing. Hogwarts Legacy just released on February 10, but because of its incredible sales numbers and Twitch views drawing in more eyeballs, many issues have been discovered like this one revolving around Sebastian.

A Reddit user is quickly garnering upvotes on a Hogwarts Legacy video showing Slytherin House's Sebastian collapsing in a strange way before disappearing. Sebastian is among the few main Hogwarts Legacy NPCs that players will encounter and complete various tasks with, complimented by Gryffindor's Natty as an early companion for the protagonist. There are many moving parts to Hogwarts Legacy and its wide arsenal of spells, items, and more, but the former may have played a role in causing Sebastian to collapse in the specific way highlighted by the gameplay clip.

Reddit user Evening-Practice-166 recently shared their early experiences in Hogwarts Legacy in which they're exploring the magical castle with Sebastian who is following the player from a distance. The clip begins with the player using the spell Revelio to highlight a nearby chest which they quickly open before turning to face a bewitched broom and deciding to double back and make sure the room is fully looted. Using Revelio once again near the center of the room, Hogwarts Legacy's Sebastian can immediately be seen collapsing as if he's reacting to the player character's spell casting.

Rather than simply falling to the Hogwarts castle floor, Sebastian stumbles in a repeated way that hints that his response is triggered by a bug, further emphasized by an item that he drops. As he falls to the ground, Sebastian drops an object which the player quickly loots that's called "dev_placeholderreward" which is seemingly not meant to be retrieved by the player based on the text, but could be something that's associated with an actual in-game item. Although the Hogwarts Legacy fan can trigger a conversation with the fallen Sebastian, the Slytherin house student slowly disintegrates as if he had been killed by the player's simple use of Revelio.

Because Sebastian dropped an item when he fell in Evening-Practice-166's video, Hogwarts Legacy developers may have initially intended for him to drop an item upon death or conversely, every NPC may require a held item to act appropriately. Given that there were no enemies in the room when Sebastian fell to his questionable death, it's currently unclear what caused the events to transpire the way they did, but it adds to the list of visual Hogwarts Legacy bugs that still need ironing out.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, and is scheduled to release for PS4 and Xbox One on April 4, and Nintendo Switch on July 25.
