A Hogwarts Legacy player has recently shared a meme that showcases how much the game’s user base loathes Ignatia Wildsmith. This Hogwarts Legacy joke was so popular that it could be considered evidence that the community really doesn’t stand her at all.

In Harry Potter lore, Ignatia Wildsmith was a witch that lived between 1227 and 1320. She’s mainly known as the inventor of the helpful Floo powder, which is used for fast travel in Hogwarts Legacy. In the game, players can only use this helpful mechanic when they reach a certain place, the Floo Flames. In all of these points, a bust of Ignatia will make a few remarks when the character fast travels. It’s widely known that the random world interactions of Hogwarts Legacy are some of the best parts of the game. However, in this case, it seems that most gamers can’t get far enough from Wildsmith and her interactions.

The Ravenclaw-aligned Reddit user SensitivePie3338 has recently shared an image that gives a pretty good example of how the Hogwarts Legacy community hates Ignatia Wildsmith. In the image, which has six panels, one can see the face of the villainous Voldemort, followed by the phrase “I prefer the real most hated HP character.” Then, there’s an image of the infamous Dolores Umbridge, to which the creator of the meme asks for the “real” most hated character once again. This is followed by an image of Ignatia’s statue in the game saying, “You can’t imagine how inconvenient travel was before I invented Floo powder,” which is one of her most annoying phrases. Comments from Redditors explain why this witch is hated with so much intensity for a character who’s not even alive anymore. For instance, some people were using fast travel during the Merlin Trials and simply got overly bored by hearing the same thing over and over again. It’s like when the infamous Preston Garvey from Fallout 4 told the player constantly that there was another settlement to help. One user called Jasonex123 hated her so much that they claim that they just started flying around instead of using the fast-traveling system because of how annoying she was. Others said they would be fine if she only talked when players used the Floo network, but she has a line ready for every time someone gets close like she can “smell” the player.

Unfortunately for many players, they will keep hearing Ignatia Wildsmith’s voice for a while now. Hogwarts Legacy sold over 12 million units in less than two weeks after its release, so new players will either have to put the game on mute or look for a mod if they want to avoid her annoying voice.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming April 4 and a Switch release dropping July 25.
