A fan of Hogwarts Legacy has shown off their ingenious role-play idea that makes the protagonist's adventures make more sense. Hogwarts Legacy offers players many different ways to play, but this idea takes the role-play one step further.

It's no surprise that gamers are already figuring out how to role-play as fan-favorite Harry Potter characters in Hogwarts Legacy, but the creativity shown so far by the community has been great. There's just a lot of positive feeling around Hogwarts Legacy right now, with the game smashing sales records all over the world. Fans are loving the game, which has given them unparalleled freedom in the Wizarding World. Despite the game's pre-launch controversy, it seems as though it has finally moved past it to become one of the most well-received games of the year so far.

The role-play idea comes from Redditor AtlasFlynn, who claims they play the game as a Hogwarts student with a secret superhero identity, mask, cape, and all. This is to give more reasoning as to why the player is always away from Hogwarts battling poachers and goblins. Character creation is key in Hogwarts Legacy, with a focus on players being able to live out their Wizarding World dreams. It's great that the game even manages to give players the tools to role-play as a superhero, even if it's just in the imagination of the player. As gamers become more familiar with the game's plethora of outfits, they might become even more creative with the type of immersive role-plays that they create in Hogwarts Legacy.

Players in the thread took to the idea, and even offered ways to further the role-play. One player suggested the Clark Kent-Superman approach, with the protagonist wearing glasses when not in superhero mode and no mask or glasses when acting as a hero. Others expressed disappointment that the game didn't allow for different preset outfits to automatically switch between when entering and leaving Hogwarts. Fans of Hogwarts Legacy have been quick to request quality-of-life improvements like this, although it remains to be seen if Avalanche Software is planning to implement any of them.

If a potential Hogwarts Legacy sequel arrives in the future, hopefully it will retain its focus on role-play and player customization. The variety of outfits in Hogwarts Legacy goes a long way toward adding to the game's role-play potential, and it's clearly an element that's important to the players. With any sequel still almost-certainly years away, players will have to hope Avalanche Software adds new outfits to Hogwarts Legacy with DLC, increasing the role-play possibilities for the original game.

Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions launching May 5 and a Switch port releasing July 25.
