A Hogwarts Legacy fan has posted a bizarre video that shows them launching a cat across the map. Hogwarts Legacy has plenty of magical creatures that players can encounter in the game, but not all of them are able to be catapulted in the same way.
Fans of Hogwarts Legacy are still discovering everything that is possible in Avalanche Software's title, with new secrets being found every day. One player even managed to find a Fred and George Weasley Easter egg in Hogwarts Legacy, a nice reference for long-time fans of the Harry Potter franchise. But the game is still relatively new, and because of its scale is likely to have many secrets hidden away that won't be discovered for some time. It'll be interesting to keep an eye on what details the Hogwarts Legacy community picks up on next.
The clip was posted to Reddit by user Opposite-Profile7791, and shows the player petting the cat, before using two spells to lob the animal across the grounds of Hogwarts. The player first uses Levioso to lift the cat into the air, before combining it with Depulso to send the cat into the misty beyond. Hogwarts Legacy features lots of spell combos that players can use in and out of combat, but this was likely not the original intention of the combo system.
It shows the depths of the role-playing potential included in Hogwarts Legacy that it allows players to commit questionable acts like this in-game. It could even be combined with mods to make it much more immersive. A recently released mod allows players to play as Voldemort in Hogwarts Legacy, and that certainly wouldn't look out of place as a part of this clip. Players are continuing to come up with their own ideas for role-playing builds in the game and posting them online for others to use. The Hogwarts Legacy community has so far shown itself to be incredibly creative, and they'll surely be coming up with some incredible role-play builds in the coming months.
Since its release, Hogwarts Legacy has faced an uphill battle against comments made by J.K. Rowling about the transgender community. It has undoubtedly made it more difficult for Avalanche Software to win over players, but the commercial success of Hogwarts Legacy has shown that the developer has managed to achieve it. While the future of any potential sequel is currently unknown, players will be hoping that this success is a deciding factor in whether the game receives further support going forward.
Hogwarts Legacy is available now on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, with PS4 and Xbox One versions launching May 5 and a Switch port releasing July 25.
