Eleazar Fig's protege is a veritable killing machine in Hogwarts Legacy, but the game treats it with a strangely whimsical tone. The fifth-year student that players can create in Hogwarts Legacy is every poacher's worst nightmare, the bane of Ashwinders and goblin extremists alike, and as their grasp of Ancient Magic grows over the course of the story, so does their body count. The wand combat and dueling in Hogwarts Legacy are intensely fun, and clearing out poacher camps for treasure is always a rewarding experience, but the way players are allowed to dispatch enemies with their arsenal of spells implies that they're either mortally wounding them or even killing them outright.

When Avalanche Software confirmed access to the Unforgivable Curses in Hogwarts Legacy, many players knew that spells such as Crucio or Avada Kedavra would become a permanent fixture in their combat loadout. The fact that the game world in Hogwarts Legacy does not raise any eyebrows for the student running around and casting the Dark Arts only makes that choice even more appealing to players in search of an extra edge in combat.

Given that Hogwarts Legacy is set in a particularly dangerous time for the Wizarding World, the player character can rack up a bone-chilling body count simply by coming into contact with all the wicked groups found in the game. It didn't take long for fans to point out how the protagonist is humorously nonchalant about their killing spree, and the latest observation came from Kommander-in-Keef who opened up a thread on the topic in the official Hogwarts Legacy subreddit.

While the natural talent of Professor Fig's pupil comes from their innate connection to Ancient Magic, the game certainly gives players plenty of opportunities to hone their wand combat through the Crossed Wands dueling club, as well as regular excursions into the Forbidden Forest. Learning new spells and enhancing them through the talent system in Hogwarts Legacy gives fans the impression of a steady power curve, but by the end of the game, few can deny that the protagonist becomes one of the Wizarding World's finest and most dangerous duelists.

As powerful as the player character may be, there is one thing they can't quite do that fans hope Avalanche Software implements in a future update: the ability to change seasons in Hogwarts Legacy. There's no denying that the developers created a truly breathtaking open-world experience with Hogwarts Legacy, and as a result, many are annoyed the game's world is permanently stuck in Spring after the main story is concluded. Though Avalanche stated that Hogwarts Legacy has no DLC plans at the moment, allowing players the ability to bask in each of the four seasons at will is certainly something worth considering.

Hogwarts Legacy is out now for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X with PS4 and Xbox One versions coming April 4 and a Nintendo Switch port dropping July 25.
